Spring 2014 : Life and Updates

Hey everyone! Sorry I have missed a few days of blogging in the last week! I hope you all weren't looking forward to posts by me too much *probably not, lol*! I've been busy with end of trimester exams and a trip to Toronto, so I'm a little late on blogging! Since I'm already late in posting and since I don't have time to blog right away yet, I tought I would quickly update you on how I've been doing. I haven't done that in the longest time it seems!

On the school front, I'm now almost done with my third year of pharmacy. (well not quite, since I have a full summer semester ahead of me, but you know, more than halfway done :P). We've had our grad pictures taken, and almost all theoretical classes are done. We have a lot of internships to do now and it's keeping me quite busy, but I do love it very much! I had exams this weeks and I will be finishing this trimester with three weeks at a local hospital. I'm very nervous about it, but it's going to be interesting as it is the first time I'm going to be at the hospital.

On the personal front, well I don't have time to do much since I'm working in a pharmacy part time now (I love my job! I have really great coworkers!). We went for a week end in Toronto recently, which was fantastic! I got to see my closest friend Frederika from French Gypsy (loveeee ♥) which I hadn't seen in forever, so that rocked. We also went to a electronic music event (that's just a fancy way to say we went to a rave :P)  where many of my all time favorite artists were dj-ing or performing (Force, Darren Styles, Jenna, Mc Whizzkid and Fracus). It was incredible and we had lots of fun! (it was called Heart of Gold 3 in case anyone is interested). Frederika who is also an amazing photographer did a mini photoshoot for me while I was there featuring a makeup look that I did. The photos came out pretty amazing if I do say so myself! She's really incredible, you should check her out!

By far the best ramen I had in a long time! We went for lunch at a ramen shop in Toronto and it was out of this world

Yummy takoyaki we had in Toronto

I told you Frederika was great right? amazing picture, I loveee it!

My cat keeping me company while I study ♥

That's pretty much what happened recently. Not exactly a ton of stuff, but yeah, I've been super busy with school so that's taking most of my time! Hope this was interesting! Let me know if you'd like to see updates more often!

Back To School Series : What's In My School Bag

Hey everyone! Since school is fast approaching, I thought I'd share what I bring with me in my school bag everyday, including what my necessities are when I'm in school. I hope this is helpful to any of you going back to class in September! Keep in mind that I'm in university though, so my needs are probably a little different than what you need in high school. Anyway, let's get on with it!

My School Bag
This is my current school bag! It's a grey Jansport bag which I have had for a few years now and it's still going strong! I really like the Jansport brand, all the bags I have from them are super durable and well built. I chose this grey color because it's timeless and matches everything.

What I bring to school everyday

This is what I bring with me on a regular basis. It changes a bit according to my mood, but that's mostly what I usually bring.

- 1 or 2 binders depending on my classes that day. Check out my How To Stay Organised post to see what I keep inside my binders!
- A calculator
- My phone
- Multi Colored Pens to take notes. Makes things a little more interesting for me!
- A makeup bag containing all my necessities
- My keys
- My Wallet
- My Glasses
- My Nexus 7 Tablet. This is a new addition in my school bag. First of all I just got it (it came out like a week ago I think), but I also usually bring my laptop instead. However, my laptop is bulky and I tend to spend more time surfing the web than I would want when I bring it so I thought bringing my tablet to school would be a good compromise!
- A Lock
- My Pencil case

Necessities
This makeup bag contains all my small necessities on an everyday basis. I keep the same kind of stuff in my purse when I'm not in school or on weekends. As you can see, I don't actually bring makeup with me in the makeup bag XD

- Medication (for allergy, motion sickness, bandages, that kind of thing)
- Tissues
- Mints
- Compact mirror
- Blotting sheets
- Mini Hair brush
- Lip balm
- Hand sanitizer
- Tide to go pen
- Hand cream
- Body Spray
- Hair elastics

What's in my pencil case
Last, we have my pencil case! It's usually quite full because I like to be prepared for anything. I like to bring :

- Post it Notes
- Erase
- Spare staples
- Mini stapler
- Led
- Sharpies
- Highlighters
- Mechanical pencils
- Correcting liquid
- Usb Drive*
Post it tab*

* I like to keep those in ziploc bags to protect them from any dirt or pencil stains that can accumulate in the pencil case.

---

That's all I bring to school everyday! I'm usually well prepared for anything that might come my way. I don't really have any books to bring with me since all my classes provide power point notes. Let me know what your school essentials are or if I missed anything in the comments! Have a good beginning of the school year everyone!

Back to School Series : School Supplies Haul

Hey everyone! Since school is back soon I'm doing a back to school series! It will include makeup for school, back to school fashion, how to stay organised and more! Stay tuned in the next few weeks for more back to school themed post if you're interested!

Today I'm doing a school supplies haul! :) I went shopping for supplies while I was in Montreal and I got a few things I needed. I still have lots of good stuff left from previous years and university isn't specific on what you need to have, so what I chose I 100% based on what I needed and what I like to use to stay organised.

I find school supplies really exciting for some reason, so I'm really happy to be sharing this with you all today! I got some of it from Walmart and the rest I got at Staples.

What I got

- Paper Mate Mechanical Pencil Pack : my favourite pencils!
- Post-It Cube
- Sheet Protectors
- Plastic Separators : You can write with pens on the tab, I like the idea!
- Notebooks
- 3 Flexible 1 inch Binders : I prefer the flexible kind because it's less bulky and easier to transport
- Steadler Colored Pens : don't really need those, but I thought they'd be fun to use while studying.
- Refill Lead for Mechanical Pencils
- Post-It Tabs : very useful when I'm studying

---

That's all I got! Do you get excited like me when you buy new school supplies or am I the only weirdo? :P

Summer 2012 : a summer trimester and backpacking trip

Hey everyone! Long time no post on here! Sorry about that :(

I thought I would update a little on my first year of university and how it's going since I haven't for a while and tell you about my plans for summer 2012.

I'm currently halfway through my first summer trimester ever (it's mandatory in my program, I'm not taking classes to speed up the process or anything). I have to say, this year has been very rewarding, but very hard. I've never had to work this hard in my life and that's something. It's not like I never studied before either. I used to study quite a lot for each exam back in cegep. But this is something completly different. Each class has an incredible amount of theory, which I need to integrate as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Anyway, I'm not complaining, because the program is very interesting, but it's been though so far! The summer trimester is only making it worse, since it's getting nice and warm out and I have to study and to get ready for my second internship next week and all I want is to enjoy the nice weather out.

So that's pretty much what I have been up to lately. Although this trimester is quite a bit lighter in content than other trimesters, it's still a drag since I haven't had any time off between the winter trimester and the summer one. It's been one long, never ending semester and I'm quite exhausted at this point. At least my grades are ok and I feel like I'm learning loads! Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to resume posting more regularly soon, since school will finish for me on the third week of june!

I will most likely post quite a bit about my next backpacking trip to asia then also. My boyfriend and I will be leaving for most of the summer for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and I cannot wait :D There is also a good friend from university who will be joining us for the first couple of weeks which should be a lot of fun. Anyway, that's pretty much all that's been going on in recent weeks :) Thank you all for still reading me and I'll be back soon with more exciting post.

I think summer 2012 will be something to remember for a long time :) What are your plans for this summer? Tell me in the comments!

Love you all <3

Going to university

It's official, I'm going to university this fall with my boyfriend :D

We just got the news, we're both accepted and will begin a pharmacy doctorate here in Quebec city in two weeks!

This is so exciting :D I cannot wait to start! After 8 months off, I'm ready for school. There are already tons of events planned for our first month of school, sounds like we're going to be busy, but in a good way! There is a lunch on September 1st, 3 initiation days, and an official soiree at the end of September to officially welcome us into the program. I'm really excited to start meeting new people and make friends!

We have been waiting for this moment for several months now so I am utterly in heaven right now! Anyhow, I just thought I would let all of you know these exciting news.

This is the view from our new place, isn't it amazing?

Us celebrating the amazing news! The quality isn't great (front camera on our new Android phone is only 2 mpx, so it's not amazing), but the picture is cute anyway :D
