Eyebrow Love Beauty Tag

Hey everyone, so I've gotten into eyebrows quite recently. I used to think that my brows were great with nothing on, but my opinion has changed quite drastically in the last year. Since I have so little experience with my own brows, I'm super curious about other people's experience with brow makeup, grooming, etc. Since eyebrows are really trendy in the beauty community right now, I thought I would take this opportunity to create an eyebrow tag! I don't know if tags such as this one already exist, but I personally have never seen one around! If it does, sorry, but I'm still curious to know what you guys' answers to these questions!

I tag everyone who read this to answer the questions either on your blog or in the comments! If you do answer it, link it to me so that I can read your answers :D

1) Do you get your brows done or do you do them yourself?
2) How often do you groom your brows?
3) Do you tweeze or wax (or thread?)
4) At what age did you start taking care of your brows?
5) Do you use an eyebrow razor or scissors to groom your brows?
6) Do you mind the dark brows, light hair look?
7) Which eyebrow shape are you rocking right now?
8) What is your favorite eyebrow product?
9) Pencil, shadow, pomade or gel?
10) Do you prefer a waxy pencil or a softer one?
11) Have you ever tried eyebrow pens? What did you think?
12) What color do you generally use to fill in your brows?
13) Do you prefer defined brows or a softer look?
14) Do you like the Instagram brow trend? Would you wear them?
15) How long does it take you to do your brows in the morning?
16) Do you have a unibrow?
17) What are your main concerns with your brows?
18) Give us your best tip for great eyebrows!
19) Have your brows evolved throughout the years? If so, post a before and after!

1) Do you get your brows done or do you do them yourself?
I do them myself, would love to get them professionally done sometime though, but I'm a little afraid of having them wrecked :/

2) How often do you groom your brows?
It greatly varies, I groom them every time I do a makeup look for the blog, but in a day-to-day basis I would say 2-3 times a month maybe? My eyebrows are pretty pale and don't grow that quickly.

3) Do you tweeze or wax (or thread?)
I tweeze and always have. I'd like to try threading though.

4) At what age did you start taking care of your brows?
I think I was around 14 or 15, but I only started filling them in this past year.

5) Do you use an eyebrow razor or scissors to groom your brows?
Nope, I don't have enough brows for that I don't think.

6) Do you mind the dark brows, light hair look?
Mostly I don't, but if the contrast is extreme sometimes it bothers me. Some gals really rock the look though, so it depends!

7) Which eyebrow shape are you rocking right now?
Mine are pretty round and thin, but that's my natural shape so, yeah, I couldn't get into the full brows trend even if I wanted :p

8) What is your favorite eyebrow product?
I love the Maybelline Define a brow pencil and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.

9) Pencil, shadow, pomade or gel?
I love them all and I feel like I can get a different look with each product so I used them according to the look I'm going for. Lately I do the pomade most often.

10) Do you prefer a waxy pencil or a softer one?
I prefer a softer pencil, but not too soft and I don't want it too pigmented either.

11) Have you ever tried eyebrow pens? What did you think?
I haven't, but I would be curious to try them!

12) What color do you generally use to fill in your brows?
Usually the palest I can find! I use blonde in the dipbrow pomade, dark blonde in the Maybelline pencil, Light in Milani brow kit, etc.

13) Do you prefer defined brows or a softer look?
I like both. If I'm going for a natural barely there look I usually do softer brows, but for bold looks I like defined brows.

14) Do you like the Instagram brow trend? Would you wear them?
I love them, I think they are amazing! I do feel like they are a bit much for my face though, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying them :)

15) How long does it take you to do your brows in the morning?
I do them once in a while and usually it takes about 2-3 minutes. I take longer if I do a really defined brow.

16) Do you have a unibrow?
Yep, I have to tweeze them, the hair isn't very dark in between my brows thankfully :p

17) What are your main concerns with your brows?
I have a few bald patches here and there and they are difficult to fill in.

18) Give us your best tip for great eyebrows!
For me, applying with a light hand always gives best results. I also like to layer a few different products to add dimension to my brows.

19) Have your brows evolved throughout the years? If so, post a before and after!
I never tweezed my brows that much, they simply do not grow thick so in terms of shape they are the same, but I fill them in now and I think it looks a whole lot better!

That's all for my tag! Hope you all enjoyed this a I hope some of you answer the questions :D

Sparkly Blue Jay Inspired Makeup using Darling Girl Cosmetics

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing a makeup look I did recently using Darling Girl Cosmetics shadows. This wasn't a planned makeup look, I just felt like  experimenting with colors and techniques and came up with this. I feel like it looks sort of blue jay inspired though (hence the name), I did a sandwich technique for the eyeshadow (is that how you call it?), a colored brow, colored liner and really cool feather lashes. (which were freaking hard to apply by the way XD) I love the results, it's so whimsical and colorful! What do you all think?

Another Spring Night Out Look

Hey everyone! So I've been really into night out/more dramatic looks recently. I do try and keep them light and fresh since it's spring though. Here's another one I created with really simple eyes and a deep lip color. Hope you all enjoy!

Ugh, bad brow day :[

I can't remember exactly what products I used for this particular look, but I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette for the eyes and a combination of NYX butter lipstick in Licorice and Nyx Butter Gloss in Sugar Cookie for the lips. I guess this could be a great fall look as well. Altough if it were only for me, I'd wear fall fashion year round :P Anyway. let me know what you think in the comments! Would you wear something like this during spring time? Do you follow "makeup rules"?

April 2015 Beauty Empties

Hey everyone! Today I have empties to share with you all. My latest post like this was back in october so this is quite overdue. As always, I'll share a quick review on each product along side the picture and tell you whether or not I would repurchase! Now we have quite a few things to go through so let's get on with it :) By the way, I'm doing the table format today to present the products to make it as visual and easy to consult as possible. It's not as cute as some other formats, but I feel like it's so much clearer. What do you all think of this? Do you enjoy reading these posts? Do you have any suggestions for me?

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Dark and Deep Brown
 Got this in NYC and I'm so bummed out to have run out! I can't get it around here and can't have it shipped either. It's the usual dry shampoo by Batiste that I like, but with no grey cast, love it and would definitely repurchase.
Dove Nutritive Solutions Conditioner
I don't like the Dove shampoos because they make my hair greasy. I do like the conditioner though, because they're thick and very moisturizing, already repurchased.
Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo
This is funny, I already reviewed it here, and said that I wouldn't repurchase, but clearly I did anyway. I still feel the same about it, it's an alright shampoo nothing special about it for me.
Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner
I like the smell of this, it moisturizes ok and the texture is thick enough. However, I HATE the packaging. It's so hard to get everything out. Wouldn't repurchase
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I quite liked this product since my skin is super sensitive. It didn't feel like it stripped my skin or irritated it. It doesn't contain any soap so it's perfect for my skin type. Also it's a huge size so it lasts forever. Would repurchase.
Clear Volumizing Shampoo
I've finished this quite a while ago, but I can't remember anything about it. I guess it means it was average on all fronts for me. Might repurchase.
L'Oréal Everstrong Deep Replenishing Masque
I like the products from the Everstrong line. They are super thick and quite moisturizing and I love the packaging. I have another one from the same line at the moment. Would repurchase.
Bath and Body Works Hand Soap in Tuscan Vineyard and Mediterranean Lemon
Both great scents. I still think these are incredibly drying, but I can't help buying more because of the yummy scents. Would repurchase.

Bath and Body Works Candle in Eucalyptus Mint
Great subtle scent - almost sort of manly smelling. I've been more into neutral scents like this one lately (or citrusey scents). This one is a permanent scent I think and I would repurchase.
Bath and Body Works Candle in Harvest Peach
I loved this scent. It had a great scent throw and really filled up the room with scent. Would repurchase.
Bath and Body Works Candle in Lemon Drops
Also a nice scent. A little more sharp than other citrus scents I've had in the past, but very pleasant none the less. It's not special enough though for me so I'd rather try something else before repurchasing this one.

Purederm Firming Lift Coenzyme Q-10 Sheet Mask
This was my first time trying sheet masks. I brought a  box of 10 of these and they were quite affordable. I'm not sure about the benefits of these, but they feel moisturizing and are qui entertaining to wear. Would repurchase.
Lush Fresh Face Masks/Hair mask in :
  1. Love Lettuce (x2)
  2. Oatifix
  3. Hair doctor

  1. This is probably my favorite mask from Lush. I have probably finished over 5 tubs of this. My face feels nice and clean and very soft after using this. It's quite soothing for my skin also. Would repurchase.
  2. I also like this mask, but the texture bothers me. It's thicker, drier and kind of hard to spread. The smell (sort of like a banana-oat kind of thing) also bothers me for some reason. It's a nice mask when my skin is dry though and I would repurchase.
  3. This minty scalp mask feels odd when you first apply it (imagine a minty tingly lip balm for your scalp). It does feel nice and soothes the scalp when irritated. I'm not sure whether my scalp issues are not severe enough for this to make a good difference, but other than soothing it didn't seem to do much for me. Wouldn't repurchase.

Colgate Max White Toothpaste
I felt like this was quite whitening and the minty taste wasn't too strong. It was a pretty good toothpaste. Would repurchase.
Crest 3D White Luxe Toothpaste
To me, this toothpaste is quite overrated. It's very popular in the beauty community, but I didn't feel like it performed any better than any other regular whitening toothpaste. In any case, I don't actually want a super whitening toothpaste for daily use since it's more abrasive for the teeth and I'm prone to sensitivity. I felt like this was quite expensive too, so I wouldn't repurchase unless on sale.
Maybelline Babylips in Peppermint and Coral Crave
I have so many other Babylips I have to go through before I can repurchase, I'm a little bummed out. I really liked both of these, because they were very slick and moisturizing. I love the finish and both were very subtle (Coral Crave didn't have much color). I loved that Peppermint was a bit tingly and had SPF in it. Would repurchase.
Clean & Clear Persa Gel 5
Already reviewed here. Already repurchased.
NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Coffee
This is not finished, but it dried out. I feel like it's probably because I bought it on clearance which might mean it was a bit old to begin with. I loved it though, the color is great it is easy to use. Already repurchased.
Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara
Already reviewed here. I've been using this non stop for over a year now, but I'm kind of getting over it. Would still repurchase though.
La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser
Full review here. Would repurchase.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer
I'm not sure how I feel about this. This was quite thick for me to use underneath my eyes. It looked kind of cakey, but most concealer do that for me. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't that great. Might repurchase.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
I finished one of these a long time ago, and repurchased (they last forever!). I have since then branched out to try other primers, but I used this consistently for years and I love it. Already repurchased.
EOS Lip Balm in Vanilla Mint
The only thing I enjoyed about this was the smell. I really dislike the texture and it doesn't moisturize well. It feels waxy to me and just sits on top of my lips. I forced myself to finish it, but it was a struggle. The packaging is cool, but it ends up being unhygienic towards the end. Wouldn't repurchase.
Bath and Body Works PocketBac Hand Sanitizer in Vampire Blood
Amazing smell, fun concept for Halloween, would repurchase.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Cleanser
This was a sample, so I can't say too  much about it, but it seemed quite pleasant to me. Might purchase.
Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser
Nice basic cleanser. Nothing special though. Wouldn't repurchase.

That's it for this beauty empties! Hope that you enjoyed this and that the format I chose to present it in helped you look at the products you were interested quickly and efficiently and made reading this more enjoyable. Let me know what you think in the comments. Also, have you tried any of these products? What did you think?

Casual Spring Outfit Inspiration

Hey everyone! Here's a little spring outfit inspiration I came up with! I couldn't choose one pair of shoes so I added both, each a good option depending on how you're feeling that day! The boots make the outfit edgier whereas the ballet flats give it a more refined, urban look. Would you wear something like this? Let me know in the comments!

Quick Beauty Haul (Sephora, Haute Look)

Hey everyone! Today I have a haul to share with you all. This is pretty much all the makeup stuff I got since my last Florida haul (in january), so I guess we could call it a collective haul. It sounds silly though since there is so little :p Anyhow, I ordered a few things from The Balm on Haute Look and I finallly got my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (so excited! :o)

Here's everything I got, The Balm : Mary Lou Manizer, Time Balm Concealer, Bahama Mama Bronzer and How 'Bout Them Apples Cheek and Lip Palette

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit - I'm pretty bad at contouring, but I love experimenting with this. I love the yellow-ish powder to set my concealer.

This Bahama Mama Bronzer by the Balm is so dark, I have to be uber careful with my fair complexion, but it a nice tone (not too orange) which I enjoy

The How 'Bout them Apples palette by the Balm is beautiful. I don't know if it's a new product, but I had never heard of it before. I like cream cheek products, especially for spring and summer so I decided to give it a try :)

I've heard so many people rave about this Mary Lou Manizer HIghlighter by The Balm. It's a gorgeous yellow/gold highlight which is super shimmery. I got a great deal on it so I cannot wait to play around with it :)

That's all I got! Let me know if you'd like to see any reviews/swatches on these products. I would be happy to do that for you!

Flirty Night Out Look for Spring using Darling Girl Cosmetics

So even thought it's still cold out here (it snowed earlier this week), it's now officially spring and I'm excited. I'm trying to get into it even though the weather is failing me. So since I can't do spring clothing yet, I've decided I would go for spring makeup! At least my interpretation of it. I also felt like playing around with my Darling Girl Cosmetics shadow which I hadn't used lately (not gonna lie, I haven't been wearing much makeup this winter). Anyhow, this is what I went for! It's a night out flirty look for spring, the skin is super dewy and fresh and the makeup is a pretty shimmery purple-ish eye. I really enjoy this look, what do you all think?

Products used :

  • Elf Eyeshadow Primer
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde
  • Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette
  • Darling Girl Cosmetics shadows in Sirena (inner corner), Icognito (middle lid) and Dark Heart (outer lid and creaser)
  • Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara
  • E.l.f. Liquid Liner in Black

 Shocker, I'm not wearing any false lashes here! I don't even know when was the last time I didn't wear any on the blog. I didn't feel like putting them on today. Also, my hair hates it when I try to curl it so it's pretty wild, just ignore it :P

Shaaanxo's Neon Graphic Eyeliner Recreation

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing a recreation I did today of one of Shaaanxo's recent makeup looks. I really liked how edgy the neon chartreuse eyeliner she did was so I kind of wanted to try and do it on myself. I didn't have a color similar to the one she used so instead I used a bright green color and I changed up the lip color to better match the green I chose.

I quite like the way this turned out! What do you all think?

Current Beauty Wishlist (2015)

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing my current beauty wishlist with you all! It's been quite a few months since I last did one of these and at the moment there are a few goodies I've been wanting to get my hands on. I'm not sure how much of these products I will actually get (most of it is high end and I don't have an infinite budget unfortunately), but I kind of like to see it all assembled in one swoon worthy collage.

Current Beauty Wishlist (2015)

As you can see, I'm really into foundations and eyeshadows lately. I'm looking to get my first high end foundation and I'm not sure which one would work best for me. Have any of you guys tried these products? What did you think? Which foundation should I get? Let me know in the comments!

Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette Review

 Hey everyone! I'm back with another review to share with you all. Today I'm reviewing a travel makeup palette, the Smashbox Full Exposure travel palette.

Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette

Color Selection
  •  Great mix of colors;
  •  Four matte shades and four shimmery shades;
  • No black, but the cool toned brown works nicely for deepening looks;
  •     Has most of the colors I want in a palette (matte beige, matte brown, shimmery champagne);
  • I'd like a lighter shimmery shade for the inner corners;
  • Not a fan of the blue-ish grey color for myself, but a pretty good option for smokey looks.
Texture and application
  • Very good texture for the matte shadows. Soft, but not overly powdery;
  • The shimmery shadows are a bit gritty and densely packed. They are a bit hard to pick up on a brush. They are easier to apply with your fingers.
Packaging
  • Sleek and ultra slim, very light;
  • Perfect for travel, it's incredibly tiny (quite a bit smaller than the Urban Decay Naked Basics);
  • Durable and easy to clean plastic casing;
  • Closes tightly with no risk of opening in your bag;
  • Good mirror size considering how tiny the palette is.
Price
  • A bit steep for the amount of product you get;
  • Good quality for the price;
  •  I feel like you pay more for the "travel-friendly" concept.
Overall

I'm happy with the purchase even though the palette is a little expensive for what it is. I brought it with me on a cruise and it served me well. I could achieve a lot of looks (although mostly natural/neutral day and night looks) and the packaging saved a lot of space in my makeup bag. So overall it was worth it for me because of the convenience, the packaging and the pretty good quality of the shadows (particularly the matte shades).
