Eyebrow Love Beauty Tag

Hey everyone, so I've gotten into eyebrows quite recently. I used to think that my brows were great with nothing on, but my opinion has changed quite drastically in the last year. Since I have so little experience with my own brows, I'm super curious about other people's experience with brow makeup, grooming, etc. Since eyebrows are really trendy in the beauty community right now, I thought I would take this opportunity to create an eyebrow tag! I don't know if tags such as this one already exist, but I personally have never seen one around! If it does, sorry, but I'm still curious to know what you guys' answers to these questions!

I tag everyone who read this to answer the questions either on your blog or in the comments! If you do answer it, link it to me so that I can read your answers :D

1) Do you get your brows done or do you do them yourself?
I do them myself, would love to get them professionally done sometime though, but I'm a little afraid of having them wrecked :/

2) How often do you groom your brows?
It greatly varies, I groom them every time I do a makeup look for the blog, but in a day-to-day basis I would say 2-3 times a month maybe? My eyebrows are pretty pale and don't grow that quickly.

3) Do you tweeze or wax (or thread?)
I tweeze and always have. I'd like to try threading though.

4) At what age did you start taking care of your brows?
I think I was around 14 or 15, but I only started filling them in this past year.

5) Do you use an eyebrow razor or scissors to groom your brows?
Nope, I don't have enough brows for that I don't think.

6) Do you mind the dark brows, light hair look?
Mostly I don't, but if the contrast is extreme sometimes it bothers me. Some gals really rock the look though, so it depends!

7) Which eyebrow shape are you rocking right now?
Mine are pretty round and thin, but that's my natural shape so, yeah, I couldn't get into the full brows trend even if I wanted :p

8) What is your favorite eyebrow product?
I love the Maybelline Define a brow pencil and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.

9) Pencil, shadow, pomade or gel?
I love them all and I feel like I can get a different look with each product so I used them according to the look I'm going for. Lately I do the pomade most often.

10) Do you prefer a waxy pencil or a softer one?
I prefer a softer pencil, but not too soft and I don't want it too pigmented either.

11) Have you ever tried eyebrow pens? What did you think?
I haven't, but I would be curious to try them!

12) What color do you generally use to fill in your brows?
Usually the palest I can find! I use blonde in the dipbrow pomade, dark blonde in the Maybelline pencil, Light in Milani brow kit, etc.

13) Do you prefer defined brows or a softer look?
I like both. If I'm going for a natural barely there look I usually do softer brows, but for bold looks I like defined brows.

14) Do you like the Instagram brow trend? Would you wear them?
I love them, I think they are amazing! I do feel like they are a bit much for my face though, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying them :)

15) How long does it take you to do your brows in the morning?
I do them once in a while and usually it takes about 2-3 minutes. I take longer if I do a really defined brow.

16) Do you have a unibrow?
Yep, I have to tweeze them, the hair isn't very dark in between my brows thankfully :p

17) What are your main concerns with your brows?
I have a few bald patches here and there and they are difficult to fill in.

18) Give us your best tip for great eyebrows!
For me, applying with a light hand always gives best results. I also like to layer a few different products to add dimension to my brows.

19) Have your brows evolved throughout the years? If so, post a before and after!
I never tweezed my brows that much, they simply do not grow thick so in terms of shape they are the same, but I fill them in now and I think it looks a whole lot better!

That's all for my tag! Hope you all enjoyed this a I hope some of you answer the questions :D

Beginner Series : How To Fill In Eyebrows - Step By Step Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today I'm back with my beginner series! Today I thought I would share my tips and tricks as well as a step by step tutorial on how I fill in my eyebrows! My method is quite easy and quick and really makes a difference. Keep reading if you're interested to see the tutorial :)

- Brow powder that matches your brows. I believe if you have light hair you need to go a few shades darker and if you have dark hair it's the opposite, but don't quote me on that! For my color, I went with trial and error. I use this Milani Brow Fix Kit and I mix both brown colors to achieve a color that I like.
- An angled brow brush. I like to use the one that comes with the kit, but you can use any one that you have.
- Tweezers
- Clear brow gel, I like to use clear mascara for this purpose. As you can see mine is starting to look brown and gross, but it's still works the same.
- A brow comb
- A shimmery highlight shade

How to Fill In Your Eyebrows

1) Tweeze any stray hairs.
2) Comb the lashes so that no hair is sticking out.
3) Using the angled brush and the brow powder in your chosen color, start filling the brow at the base on the brow. I like to fill in the front on my brows first and the tail last because that's where I apply the most product. Use short strokes to get the effect of hairs.
4) Using the same technique, now define the upper portion of the brow.
5) Fill it in.
6) Finish by filling in the tail of the brow.
7) Brush the eyebrows into place again. This will help reduce the appearance of drawn on brows and make it look more natural by getting rid of any excess product.
8) Using the brow gel, apply a small amount to the brows to help seal the product as well as keep them in place during the day.
9) This last step is optional, but if you want to further define the brow, you can use an angled brush and apply a light shimmery shade close to the brow on the brow bone.

That's all! You're brows are now groomed and ready for the day. Pretty easy right? Let me know if this tutorial was helpful to you!

Colored Gradient Brow Tutorial

Hey everyone! Lately I've been really into filling in my brows. It's a totally new thing for me, since I never used to do it. Now that I've started doing it, I always feel like my face looks incomplete unless I fill my brows in a little bit. SO I've been practicing and playing around with brow looks in the past few months.

I also started doing more elaborate brow painting for my colorful looks. One thing that I really like to do and that really adds to the drama of my inspired makeup looks is a colored or gradient brow. At first I wasn't sure how to proceed with this, but with a little trial and error I have found a technique that works pretty well for me. Today I'm going to share a tutorial I made on how to achieve colored or gradient brows! Check out some of the looks I have made using this technique : Princess Celestia, The Little Mermaid

What you will need

♥ White Base, I'm using NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
♥ Eye shadow(s) of your choice
♥ A small flat shading brush and an angled liner or brow brush
♥ Cotton Swabs
♥ Eye Makeup remover

Tutorial

1) Apply the white base all over your brow.
2) Clean around the edges using a cotton swab.
3) Using the flat shading brush pat on your darkest eye shadow.
4) If you're going for a one color brow, skip this step. Next, using the angled brush, pat on the lighter shadow on the outer part of the brow only and blend lightly until you get a gradient effect.
5) Using a cotton bud and makeup remover, clean around your brow to shape it. You can also use the angled brush with more of the dark shadow to help redefine the edges.

That's all! You now have a cool looking gradient/colored brow. Easy isn't it? Let me know how you liked this tutorial in the comments!
