The Hunger Games Inspired Makeup Series : District 13

Hello everyone! Today I'm doing the last of this series inspired makeup looks : District 13! District 13 is thought to have been annihilated during the rebellion, which means other districts are no longer in contact with it. Their industry used to be nuclear power.

If you haven't read second book or watched the second movie yet, do not read below it will contain spoilers which you might not want to know about. (or go ahead, but at you own risk if you like spoilers)

*SPOILER ALERT*

After book 2, we now know that district 13 in fact still exists, and has made a deal with the Capitol during the rebellion to be able to be independent from it. It's where Katniss is transported following the end of the second Hunger Games, where she will be the face of the rebellion. Basically, District 13 becomes the seat of the rebellion, which is why I took inspiration from that, rather than going for a nuclear theme. (which I wouldn't have known how to represent anyway). Katniss's mockingjay pin also becomes the symbol of the rebellion, which is what I chose to represent for this look. I got inspired by this image of the mockingjay pin over a black background :

*END OF SPOILER*

The Hunger Games Inspired Makeup Series : District 11 (Agriculture)

Hi all! Here's another District inspired makeup look from Hunger Games! It's district 11 from Panem, the district of agriculture.

I was inspired for this look by the colors of the crops and fresh tilled earth, so I went for gold and brown tones as well as a nice warm toned green. I was also inspired by the glowing sun, which gives life to the harvest. I went for a copper liner to keep things soft and pretty. Overall, I'm really glad of how this look turned out! It's probably one of the most wearable looks I have done yet for this series! Let me know what you think in the comments! Is this something you would wear?

Fall Series : Changing Leaves Inspired Makeup Look

As some of you might have realized by now, I'm a big fan of fall. I love everything about it, from the leaves to the weather, the fashion, Halloween, etc. If you want to know what I love about Fall, check out the post I did last year about it!

Since the weather is getting a little chillier lately here in Quebec City I've been inspired to do a fall themed makeup look. I love how nature changed during the autumn and I especially love watching the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. It's probably what I love most about fall. That's why I decided to do a makeup look inspired by all the amazing colors of the leaves during my favorite season of the year.

I love how it turned out and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks with green eyes. I bet it would look great on brown eyes too! What do you think? Do you like this look? Also, what's your favorite season of the year? Let me know in the comments! :D

St-Patrick's Day Inspired Makeup

Hello everyone! I'm back with another makeup look :D

This time, it's inspired by St-Patrick's Day which is tomorrow! I think I'll be making green beer to celebrate the holiday this year! I'd love to wear something green also, but quite frankly I don't think I own any :P

Anyway, I'm not Irish or anything, but I love any reason to celebrate, so here's a festive look for the holiday! ♥

When I think of St-Patty's day, I think of clovers, Leprechauns and the pot of gold so that's pretty much the colors I went for :)

No lashes for this look because I got lazy. Kind of wish I had stuck some on though, my lashes kind of look sad  just like that. The Clump Crusher mascara really does a good job of making them look dark and full though :)

Really happy of how this look turned out. It was one of my first time playing with glitter. Now I want more!

Products used :

Base

  • UDPP
  • NYX Jumbo Pencil - Milk

Eyeshadow
  • BH 120 Palette (1st Edition) : Lid color and transition color
  • Wet n Wild trio in I'm Getting Sunburned : Lower lash line
  • Wet n Wild trio in Cool as a Cucumber : Outer corner

Liner & Lashes
  • Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara
  • Wet'n Wild Gel Liner - Black
  • Milani Liquif'eye Eyeliner Pencil - Black
  • Stila Smudge Stick - Koi
  • Lise Watier Gold Glitter Liner

I wish you all a happy St-Patrick's day tomorrow! Have fun and be safe if you celebrate! I know here in Quebec, many people take it as an opportunity to get drunk and party which can get a little crazy sometimes! See you all soon in my next blog post and remember to leave me a comment if you enjoyed this look! ♥
