Happy New Year!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a very nice holiday season! It's 2015 already! This year has really flown by for me. I can't believe I graduate in only a short 4 months. I'm really pumped about that! On this first day of 2015, I wish you all a wonderful new year filled with love, joy and anything else you desire! ♥ Thank you to all those of you still following and reading me even though I've been quite MIA these past months. Still, 2014 has been a year filled with milestones for me. I got to 500 posts as well as 100 000 views! I was incredibly excited about both and it's you, the readers, that I have to thank for that. So thank you all so much, it means a lot to me ♥

I thought I would share a little collage of 2014's best makeup moments on the blog. I feel like the quality of my work has really increased in 2014 compared to other years and there are so many looks that I am really proud of. Anyway, enjoy!

That's all! Have a great day everyone :)

Recent Beauty and Random Favorites

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing my current and recent favorites! I used to do these every month, but I realized that it was getting a little boring with the same products repeating over and over again. I've waited a little too long to do this one so I have a bunch of things to share now! I especially have a ton of random favorites because I've been really into reading and watching shows lately :)

So without further ado, let's proceed with the favorites ♥

 ** BEAUTY **
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01
Golden toned extra shiny highliter. It's super pigmented and looks great on the top of the cheekbones.

L'Oréal Colour Riche Balm in 818 Nourishing Nude
Great feeling on the lips, sheer natural color and beautiful shiny finish. It's really moisturizing too! It's really perfect for my dry chapped lips.

OPI Dulce de Leche Nail Polish
Probably not the first time I mention this one, but for me it's the perfect nude, wearable, work appropriate color!

Lush Fresh Face Mask in Love Lettuce
I love all the Lush masks that I have tried so far, but I've repurchased this one twice. I love the feeling of my skin afterwards and it's quite soothing. Great to pamper yourself during the weekend.

Tony Moly Party Lover Liquid Liner
Super black, really thin brush and very easy to control. I love the results and I'm glad I finally found a liquid liner that I love besides the Elf 1$ liner.

Urban Decay Naked Basics
Tiny little palette, but so practical and versatile! I love to pack this along with a few shimmery shadows when I travel. It contains all the basics that you would need to do a well rounded makeup look. Also, the color Naked is perfect for my brows. Love!

EcoTools Eye Enhancing Duo Brush Set
I love this double ended brush set. The angled brush is super fine and perfect for precision work and I love the blending brush. As with all other EcoTools brushes, they are soft and great quality too.

Lush The Olive Branch Shower Gel
Wonderful Scent, gentle on the skin, I couldn't ask for more from a shower gel! The small bottle lasts quite a long time, but the size is perfect for travel which I always appreciate.

Le Petit Marseillais Body wash in White Peach and Nectarine
This is the first time I try this brand, but I'm already sold! The scents are to die for and the formula is extra gentle. I also have a raspberry one which is incredible.

Toleriane Ultra Intense Soothing Care moisturizer and Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser
I think I'm going to review this in-depht soon, so I'm going to be brief. This skin care line is gentle, moisturizing and perfect for my allergic skin. The products are expensive, but really worth it for me.

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette
Incredibly cool packaging. As soon as I saw it on the Sephora website I knew I had to have it! The shadows themselves are very basic, but the quality is unparalleled. Great palette!

** MUSIC **
Zomboy
I love a lot of Zomboy's music, but lately I'm quite into the Dead Symphonic E.P :D

Dj Bl3nd
I've been listening to Dj Bl3nd Freakshow Vol. 8 a lot! Really great music :)

** TV & MOVIES **

- Hotel Transylvania
- Witches of East End
- Veronica Mars
- Once Upon a Time
- Prison Break

** BOOKS **

- Divergent Series
- Razorland Series

That's it for my current favorites! Let me know if you have any recommendations for me wether it be beauty, books, tv or music! I'd love to hear it :)

Beauty Empties Number 5

So, I think I waited just a tad too long to do this empties post and now I have a bunch of things to show you all. Oops :S Well let's get on with it, we have a lot of products to talk about!

 ♥ Empties ♥

1) Batiste XXL Dry Shampoo : I didn't like this. I've reviewed it in depth here. Would not repurchase.

2) Alpen Milk Bubble Bath : This was a nice bubble bath, it foamed pretty well and smelled nice. Other than that it was nothing special. May repurchase.

3) Aussie Moist Conditioner : I think I included this in a favorites post a while back. Still liking the smell and how thick and conditioner it is. Would repurchase.

4) TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Conditioner : Not bad, not great. Liked the smell, but I got really sick of using it by the end of this huge bottle. Would probably repurchase.

5) Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle : this has been in my favorites multiple times. I'm loving it, but I can't get it in Quebec anymore. Would repurchase if I can get my hands on it!

6, 7, 9) Bath and Body Works Foaming Hand Soap : I loved all three smells and I love the hand soaps. I certainly will be purchasing more in the future.

8) Bath and Body Works Exotic Coconut Shower Gel : I like the smell, but it's nothing special. Also I'm not a fan of the packaging. I find it hard to squeeze the product out. I don't think I would repurchase.

10, 11, 12, 13) Candles : Sweet Clementine and Peach Bellini by Bath and Body Works. Amazing citrusy smelling candles. I don't know where the other two are from, but they were nice.  I would repurchase.

1) Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizers : I love the smells and how affordable these are. I also like that they are small so I can try a bunch! Would repurchase.

2) Batiste Dry Shampoo : while I dislike the XXL formula, I'm a fan of the original formula. I've said it in the past and I've repurchased multiple times.

3) ZA Hydrating Mist : Loved it as an after makeup spray. I'm not sure it did anything, but it worked nicely to make my skin look less powdery. Would probably repurchase.

4) Dove Deodorant (peach scent?) : It wasn't bad and it smelled nice, but it was kind of boring. I guess I just like to use different deodorants all the time. Would not repurchase.

5) Lush the Olive Branch Shower Gel : Loved this shower gel. The smell is amazing and I like that it's all natural. It's too bad it was such a small sized bottle. I think it's limited edition though so I don't think I can repurchase until winter next year.

6) La Roche Posay Thermal Water Spray : Again, I use this as an after makeup spray. I quite like it and it's not too expensive. I've already repurchased.

7) Maybelline and Wet n Wild Gel Liners : I liked all of these, but they dried out too quickly in my opinion. I prefer the l'Oréal one now. It's a lot darker and creamier. Would not repurchase.

8) Liquid Liners : I liked all of these. The E.l.f one was absolutely fantastic and I would repurchase it in a minute. I loved the Thai brand liner as well, but when it dried out it got really hard to manage. I might repurchase if I could get it. The Ardène liner was fine at first, however it dried out ridiculously quickly and stained my lids like crazy. Would not repurchase.

9) Tarte Maracuja C-Brightener Eye Cream : Loved it! Super moisturizing and made my eyelids feel nice. It's too expensive for me to repurchase though. Would not repurchase.

10) Yves Rocher Cream Eyeshadow : These were pretty, but they dried out like crazy. They were nothing special, so I would not repurchase.

11) Top Coats : Loved both the Sally Hansen and the Sèche Vite top coats. The only issue I got is both of these dried when they were half full. It's kind of a bummer, but I would repurchase.

12) Cotton pads : The Make off brand is alright, but it's generic. I liked the Personnelle premium pads though. They kind of remind me of my beloved Shiseido pads. They're a little less soft, but they work fine. Might repurchase.

13) Estée Lauder Eye Cream : This was a tiny sample, but I quite enjoyed it. It's very expensive though so again I don't think I would repurchase.

14) Carmex Lip Balm : this was a nice balm, but unfortunately it expired so I'm throwing it out. I kind of smelled odd to me though. I have too many lip balms so I wouldn't repurchase this any time soon.

15) Clinique Face Primer : The sample was too small to really tell if it does anything and it smelled bad. I don't think I'd purchase it.

16) Duo Clear Lash Glue : Love this glue.It doesn't irritate my eyes and holds up well. It does smell a little odd though, like fishy. I don't know if it's just the one I got, but  it's weird. Already repurchased.

17) Glysomed hand cream : best hand cream. It's been my favorite for a long time. Would repurchase.

18) Mascaras : None of these mascaras are empty, but they're too old so I'm throwing them all out. I also didn't like any of those, so I didn't end up using them very much. Would not repurchase any of these.

March, April and May 2014 Beauty Favorites

Hey all! Sorry I've been neglecting the blog lately. I feel like I've said this in the past three posts I did on here, but I can't seem to get on top of school and work lately. It's so much work!

Anyway, I've prepared a few blog posts to schedule for the blog for the next few weeks and hopefully those will hold you over until I can get some more time to blog again! Let me know if you have any ideas for quick posts I could make since I don't have a lot of time.

Enough chit-chat, let's get on with the favorites! I skipped two months, partly because I don't have a lot of time for blogging, but also since I haven't been buying much makeup lately. (because of my 10$/week budget for 2014) I feel like it would be boring for me to keep repeating the same products over and over again, so since I don't have many new products, I didn't have much to talk about in my favorites posts.

♥ Quo Eyelash curlers : Loving the look of this pair of curlers! They also work great and are only 5$. They really make a difference on how my lashes look!

♥ L'Oréal Magic Lumi Primer : I love the sheen that it gives my skin. I use it all the time underneath foundation, especially if I know they have a matte finish (I prefer dewy looking skin!)

♥ La Roche Posay Tolériane Ultra Moisturizer : My skin has been all over the place lately. Allergic and sensitive, as well as oily and prone to breaking out. This is a super gentle moisturizer that doesn't irritate my skin. It spreads out well and hydrates my skin just enough. Loving it!

♥ Katy Perry Meow Perfume : Love the smell, love the bottle and I got it for 20$. It's perfect!

♥ Essie Sure Shot Nail Polish : Great magenta color and amazing formula! It only needs two coats and goes on evenly. I'm loving it for summer.

♥ Urban Decay Naked Palette : I've been reaching out for this a lot lately. Not only is the color selection great, but I'm also loving the texture of the shadows. It might be my favorite Naked palette of the three!

♥ L'Oréal Infallible Shadow in Tender Caramel : Great color and pigmentation. It's super shiny and pretty. I've been wearing it a lot since I got it.

♥ L'Oréal Infalllible Gel Lacquer Liner in Black : Ever since my E.l.f. liquid liner ran out, I've been looking for something to replace it since I can't get my hands on E.l.f around here. I'm not liking anything so far, so I decided to switch back to gel. I started using a different brush with it tough and I much prefer it! I use a small Eco Tools lip liner to apply it (dipped slightly in makeup remover) and it works amazingly!

♥ Canmake Cream Cheek blusher : Easy to blend, and really natural even tough it's bubble gum pink. Love the finish on the skin too. It's really quick to apply so it's perfect if you're in a hurry, which is pretty much me every single day lately :P

♥ Babylips Dr. Rescue in Coral Crave : Subtle color, slick on the lips. It's been in my handbag for weeks and I'l loving it.

♥ Real Techniques blending brush : It's not too dense so it diffuses colors nicely. I quite enjoy using it.

Makeup Vanity Staples that I Never Mention

Hi everyone! So I saw a post like this on Emily Noel's blog recently and I thought "What a great idea, I need to make a post like this for my blog!" So here we are, I'm going to share my vanity staples with you all today :)

- Baby wipes : Great for cleaning up swatches, hands and brushes. Much cheaper than using makeup wipes for that purpose.
- Two holes sharpener by Anabelle : The small hole fit regular size pencils and the bigger whole is perfect for those fat crayon type products (like the Jumbo Pencils by NYX)
- Scotch tape : Great for doing sharp angles
- Cosmetic cotton swabs : one side is pointy the other is flat. Great for cleaning up precisely.
- Makeup brush cleanser : To spot clean between uses
- Tweezers : I use them every time I do a makeup look to groom my brows, but also to apply falsies and rhinstones.
- Duo Clear Lash Glue : Great glue, dries clear and doesn't irritate my eyes

That's it for my makeup vanity staples! Hope you all enjoyed this quick post! See you the day after tomorrow :) Don't forget to follow me and like my Facebook page for more posts like this ♥

10 Things I love About Spring

1) Longer days, meaning you can spend an evening out and it's still light outside
2) Eating on terrasses
3) Flowers in Bloom - Lilacs are my favorites ♥

4) Weather getting warmer - No need for heavy coat and boots anymore!

5) The feminine fashion - Pastels, florals and lace are my favorites.

6) Birds chirping in the morning - They all migrate south during the winter so I'm always glad to hear them sing once Spring rolls around and they come back.

7) Being able to enjoy walks outside again - Because who wants to go out when it's -20 outside?

8) Motivation to be healthy again - Winter is just unmotivating both in terms of exercise and diet.

9) No more heating - Meaning it's going to be less dry in the apartment and my electricity bill will be much more acceptable, yay!

10) No more snow :D

11) BONUS : Roadtrips! - I'm going to be road tripping to Toronto for the weekend very soon. Cannot wait to blast music in the car with all the windows rolled down. It's going to be great ♥

Those are the 10 11 things I love about Spring. What are your favorite things about this season? Let me know in the comments! Also, don't forget to check out my Pinterest Spring board!

February 2014 Beauty Favorites

Hey everyone! It's time for monthly favorites once again! This month I don't have a lot of products because I haven't been buying much lately (update at the end). Meaning, I haven't been using many new things recently. I felt like it would be repetitive to keep talking about the same products over and over again. What do you think? Should I only include new products/rarely mentioned products in my favorites? Let me know in the comments.
Covergirl Stay Fabulous Foundation - I really cannot get enough of this foundation. I wrote about it in my last favorites.

Elf Essential Liquid Eyeliner in Black - Love this eyeliner. I get the easiest application and most precision out of all of my eyeliner with one. Also, it's only a dollar.

Britney Spears Circus Fantasy Perfume - To me the dominant notes are citrus and fruit. It's feminine and fresh, perfect for the upcoming spring season.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Khol in Nude - Great for brightening and a more awake look. It's also very creamy which is a must for me.

Quo Blending Sponge - My current favorite way to apply foundation.

Eco Tools Domed Bronzer Brush - I find it too dense for bronzer application, but it's great for powder. Gotta make sure to tap off the excess though, unless you care for a powdery look.

Babylips Dr. Rescue in Berry Soft - By now, everyone is aware that I love Babylips. This shade is no exception! It's a nice subtle pink hue that looks great with a fresh faced makeup look.

Sonia Kashuk Lash & Brow Groomer - The metal comb on this tool is amazing at separating lashes after mascara application.

Garnier BB Cream (Combination to Oily Skin) - Lately, my usually dry skin has been going through phases of being oily (it's not even weather related which is odd). Therefore this BB cream has been great for the past couple weeks. It's especially great for lazy mornings (most morning in February :P)

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze - Another lazy morning essential! Easiest and fastest way to add some color to your lids.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve your Cabana - Because this powder is ever so slightly shimmery (not enough to use as an highlighter in my opinion), I use this as an all over powder when I'm going for a dewy finish.

Red Cherry Lashes in #28 - These are my current favorites for colorful looks. They're dramatic, but crisp and polished. It's perfect for makeup closeups!

---
Project 10$/Week Update 2 - I still haven't bought any makeup since the beginning of the year. I kind of thought this would be harder, but it's been quite easy. I also have been liking using up all the products that I already own. I'm still thinking of buying the Nars Laguna and Orgasm Duo. Another product I want is the Naked Basics Palette. Which one should I get first?

January 2014 Beauty Favorites

Hey everyone! It's time for my first monthly favorite post of 2014! I'm sorry this is a little late, but better late than never right? I don't have much time to write this since I have to be out the door in 30 minutes so lets get right to it!

January 2014 Favorites

♥ Goody TangleFix Brush - Does a pretty good job of detangling my hair and it's supposed to be less damaging than regular brushes so you can use it on wet hair! I like how compact it is as well, very travel friendly!

♥ Bioderma Sensibio H2O - Always a favorite, but I've been particularly loving this lately. I've been using it day and night and my skin is better than ever.

♥ Twilight Woods Triple Moisture Body Cream - I don't know I moisturizing this really is in comparison to other lotions, but this smells incredible. I could smell it all day long. Thinking of getting the body spray!

♥ Shiseido Facial Cottons - These a little more expensive so at first I was skeptical, but they are so soft and they aren't scratchy. Now I don't want to use anything else.

♥ Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation - Great coverage, doesn't look dry on the skin and amazing staying power.

♥ Lush Body Wash in The Olive Branch : I got this in a Christmas set from Lush. The citrus/orange smell is amazing and it lathers really nicely. You have to use a loofa with this though because it's very liquidy and will get used up very quickly if you use anything else. Also, I'm sad it's such a small bottle :(

♥ ZA Total Hydration Energy Mist - I ran out of my Urban Decay Setting Spray so I've been using this a ton for setting my makeup and making sure it isn't powdery. Not sure how much it helps for staying power, but it definitely helps tame the powder look. It feels refreshing also, which is very nice.

♥ Quo Blending Sponge - I think I mentioned this in the past. It's great for foundations that are fuller coverage or heavier in consistency. It really works wonders with the Cover Girl foundation. Gives a flawless, but really natural finish.

♥ Sally Hansen Vita-B Lip Moisturizer - Not sure if you can get this anymore, but these are really slick and pleasant on the lips. Almost the only thing that doesn't accentuate the flakes on my lips when my lips are at their worst.

♥ Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush - I've been using dry shampoo a whole lot more recently. I love the texture that it gives to my hair, which is normally very flat. The regular Batiste dry shampoo is always a good choice since it works well and smells quite nice.

♥ Avène Tolérance Extrême Cream - This is designed for hypersensitive and allergy prone skin, which I is exactly my skin type. It's very moisturizing and thick (I'd say if you're oily you should stay away) and it's perfect for my skin, especially in the winter. I haven't got dry patches since I've been using this. I have to mention though that I absolute HATE the packaging. It's horrible and impossible to handle, I hope they will change it.

♥ Glysomed Hand Cream -  Still the best hand cream I have ever tried. I've mentionned it so many times that I'm not going to review all over again :P

♥ Bonne Bell Liplites in Pink Candy Cane - love this color, it smells and tastes like vanilla and it's not sticky, love it! I don't think they sell this exact flavour anymore, but they've got a bunch of other ones that look just as nice.

♥ NYX Buttergloss in Éclair - This gloss has a great opacity and it super comfortable on the lips, not at all sticky. The color I have is Éclair, a cool toned pink which looks very nice on. I wish I had gotten more of those though, because they are great and the color selection is quite large.

♥ Quo Eyelash Curlers - Not only are these super pretty and pink, they also work really well with my lashes and they only cost 5$.

♥ Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve your Cabana - This is an highlighting powder (even tough it's called bronzer), but the shimmer is very subtle so instead I use it as an all over powder when I want to preserve the dewyness of my foundation. It's not great at keeping shine at bay, but it gives a really soft glowy look to the skin.

♥ L'Oréal Infallible Shadow in Amber Rush - I love the texture of this shadow and how pigmented it is. I apply it with my fingers for the best color payoff. The color is just sublime.

♥ Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé Kiss - You have to be careful with this one. If you're lips are too chapped, the white color of the product will only make it stand out more. Otherwise if you're lips are just a little dehydrated this is perfect, it soft, hydrating and the smell is out of this world.

♥ Urban Decay Naked Palette - I didn't get this until this Christmas because I thought I didn't necessarily need it and because it's kind of expensive. My boyfriend got it for me for Christmas and now I realize how much I was wrong! It might be my favorite of the Naked Palettes. I love the warm tones and the color selection. Such a great palette!

♥ Maybelline Define-a-Brow Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Blonde - I always thought brow pencils would look harsh on my barely there brows, but I was completly taken by surprise by how much I love this. It's much quicker and easier than powder (and a whole lot less messy). Since the pencil is a bit waxy, it also holds the brows a little bit. Also, dark blonde is just perfect for my brows. Loving it!

♥ Tarte C-Brightener Maracuja Eye Treatment -  I don't know much about eye cream since I ever only tried 2 different kinds. However, I must say that I much prefer this rich creamy consistency to the gel formula that I was using before. I have dry under eyes and this helps my concealer glide on. Great discovery, but I'm not sure I'll repurchase considering the 40$ price tag.

New Lipstick Storage
My other favorite for this one is my new lipstick storage! I got the acrylic holders at Dollorama for 2$ each. I think it looks bright and pretty and it helps me see exactly what I got at a super affordable price! Very glad I got these.

---

That's all for my january favorites! What are your favorites for this month? Let me know in the comments :)

*Quick Update* - In case you were wondering about how I'm doing with the 10$/week project, well I still haven't got any new makeup since the beginning of 2014! I'm thinking of getting the Nars Laguna/Orgasm duo soon though. It's 55$ here in Quebec, which means I have to wait at least 6 weeks before I can get it. The 6th week of the year started yesterday, so I'm right on track! I'll let you know if I end up buying it!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review and Swatches

I've been hearing about the Naked 3 Palette coming out for a few months now. At first, I kind of thought it wasn't real and that if it were, Urban Decay would have announced it themselves. Turns out, not long after that, they did announce it and Bloggers started receiving it for reviews. As soon as I saw the pictures, I knew I had to get this one! It's the rose gold neutral version of the Naked Palette. Who doesn't love rose gold? I've had it a couple weeks now so I thought I'd give you all an in-depht review!

If you're interested in similar palette reviews you can check out my Nude Tude ReviewStila In the Lights Review and Naked 2 Palette Review

Review

Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette is another neutral palette from their Naked range. It contains 12 eye shadows including matte, shimmer, satin and glitter finishes. It's an everyday/wearable palette.

Pigmentation
As I mentioned before the pigmentation of the Urban Decay Shadows is outstanding. Most of the shadows in the palette, you can swipe delicately with you brush and you will get a ton of color.  The colors are intense and saturated, including the matte shades which is very impressive considering matte shades are often less pigmented.

Texture
Most of the shadows aren't too powdery or chalky. The shimmery colors are buttery and the matte colors are significantly softer than most other brands I have tried. The glittery colors have quite a bit of fallout. Blackheart still applies nicely to the lid though, while Dust is kind of messy. Trick feels harder than the other shades and barely comes off on your brush.

Wear
I always use these over Urban Decay Primer Potion. They last all day and don't crease. I do use a base though, and I don't have oily  lids, so that's probably a factor to consider.

Application
Most of the shadows from the Naked 3 Palette apply very well. Dust, like I mentionned before is an exception to that statement. It's a pretty color, but it's patchy and very flaky. Trick is another one that is harder to work with because you have to really press into the shadow to get good color payoff when applied. All the other colors apply evenly, easily and blend very well.

Color selection
Compared to the Naked 1 and 2, this is a lot rosier which I think is perfect for fair skin tones. The palette has a good mix or matte and shimmers which I love and I find that the highlight shade is light enough that it is visible on my brow bone (as opposed to the Naked 2 and the Naked 1 which only has a shimmery one). It also has a good variety of light and darker colors, all of which show true to color when applied. I'm really pleased with this color selection overall.

Packaging

LookThe Naked 3 has very similar packaging to the Naked 1. It has the same metal tin feeling that is both durable and strong. This one has sort of a crinkled effect which is cute, but I prefer the more sleek look of the Naked 2. The color of the tin is reminiscent of the color selection that's inside, whilst the naked 2 has more of a cool color which I also think is a cool concept.

Material
I don't have much more to say about the material than what I said about the Naked 2 in my past review so here is a quote I wrote about the Naked 2 a while back : "As I mentioned before, the palette is made out of metal. It's very easy to clean and it's quite sturdy, enough so that I'm comfortable traveling with it, because I'm not afraid the shadows will break easily."

Size
The Naked Palettes are all long thin rectangular shaped. They are relatively small so that they aren't too bulky if you decide to travel with them, but not super small either.

Mirror
The Naked 3 Palette has the same mirror than the Naked 2 which means I really love it! It's big enough to use and so practical.

Included items
The palette comes with the same double ended brush as the Naked 2 and with a sample card of all the primer potions that Urban Decay makes. In my opinion this is the most boring palette in terms of the items that are included. I kind of feel like they skimped on that. I much prefer the Naked 1 which comes with a small primer potion.

---

Swatches

My favorite colors are :  Burnout, Limit, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Blackheart

Note : All shadows are swatched dry using my finger over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Overall thoughts : Amazing palette and I'm really glad to have completed the Naked family by getting this one (I got the Naked 1 for Christmas, review coming soon!) Now that I have them all I think this is my second favorite palette of the collection. It's very versatile in the sense that it will give you natural and dramatic looks and the quality of the shadows is simply amazing. I definitely recommend it if you like pinkier shades.

Overall Score : 10/10

Would recommend? Yes! ♥

---

That's all for my review and swatches of the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay. I hope this post was helpful for you all. Would you like to see a Naked 1 review even though it came out ages ago? Also, does anyone have the Naked Basics? Is it worth getting if I have all the Naked Palettes?  Please let me know in the comments if you have any other questions or suggestions :)

The Perfect Palette Tag

Hey everyone! Today I'm back with another tag that's been going around Youtube for a while : the perfect palette tag! This is 10 questions about your favorite aspects of palettes that you own. Since my favorite makeup is by far eye shadow and since I'm totally obsessed with palettes I was super excited to do this one for you all! I tag all of you to do it if you're interested!

Tag Questions:
1. Best Packaging : Quo Glamour Box Palette

I love everything about this packaging. First off the palette is very small and portable. Next I think the cushion pattern on it is adorable. I love that it is made of super durable plastic because I feel like it is super safe for the shadows. I also love the size of the mirror which is super large considering how small this palette. It's just so practical if you're on the go!
2. Best Color Payoff : The Balm Nude Tude Palette
This one was a toss-up between this, the Naked Palettes and the Stila In the Lights Palette. I ended going with this one though because every single color in the palette is so incredibly pigmented and buttery, no matter the texture. In both the Naked Palettes and the Stila Palette, some of the matte shades are a touch drier (although just as nicely pigmented) which makes application a little more difficult.

3. Most Versatile : Tarte of Giving Holiday Palette

Not only does this palette have all the matte shades that I need (black, neutral beige, medium brown blending shade), a ton of beautiful shimmery lid shades,  but it also has a few colored options such a a beautiful deep blue shade, a nice matte purple shade, a deep green, some beautiful bronze shades, etc. It's also got a silver and a gold in there. Basically it has everything you need to do a bunch of neutral or dramatic looks.

4. Best For Travel : Sephora Desert Sunset Eyeshadow Palette
Not only is this palette tiny (fits into the palm of my hand), but it's made of a really hard and thick cardboard which feels very secure. It's affordable, the mirror is large enough that you can use it while traveling and the palette includes all you need for a multitude of looks. (including a matte highlight shade, a shimmery bronzer and a shimmery blush). When I travel, I love to go very light, so this is really perfect for me while still giving me a bunch of options. The pigmentation is great too!

5. Biggest Regret : Elf Beauty Book Lip Edition Palette
I've talked about this in the past, but I never ever use this. While I do love some Elf products dearly, this was a total bust for me. All the colors sort of look the same or similar, they're waxy and I just don't reach for this. Wouldn't recommend it. Thankfully it was really cheap.

6. Best Color Names: Nude Tude Palette

I haven't taken another picture of it since it already won one of the categories. I love the Nude Tude Palette names and the whole concept behind the palette. I think the balm did a really good job at giving these shadows a fun name without going trashy (like Nars Orgasm for example).

7. Least Used : 88 Warm Palette

I could have gone with the Elf lip palette for this one also, but that would imply that I actually use it, which I don't. The 88 Warm Palette, on the other hand, I do use, only very rarely. As you can see, it has seen a lot of love in the past and I'm not saying it's not good, only that I have kind of put it aside when I got better neutral palettes. I'm a complete neutral shadow lover so I do invest in that more than anything else, which means now that I have the Naked Palettes, I can really see a difference in the quality of the shadows compared to the 88 Warm.

8. Most Used : BH 120 Color Palette
This may be surprising, but my most used palette is this bright rainbow colored one. The reason behind this is because I do make a lot of very colorful looks on this blog. While I prefer neutrals on a day to day basis, I really don't wear makeup everyday, therefore I don't use my palettes nearly as often as this one. Sorry if it looks terrible, it's been through a lot (namely my cat who threw it on the floor once).

9. Most Loved : All the Naked Palettes
Overall, my most loved palettes are definitely the three Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. I love everything about them, the color selection, the pigmentation, the ease of application, the packaging, everything. I take them everywhere with me and there are just endless combinations I can do with them.

10. Desert Island: Stila In the Lights
Not that I would bring any makeup to a deserted island, but let's see this more as if I had to choose only one palette to have for an extended period of time. I think the Stila in the Lights Palette is small, light and portable, the pigmentation is fantastic and it contains all the colors I need for everyday neutral looks. Because of that, I could go on a while using nothing but this and I would be just fine.

That's all for this tag! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did doing it! Since I'm a palette junkie, it was a lot of fun for me to think of each palette to award every category! Anyway hope you all have a great day! See you all the day after tomorrow for a Naked 3 Palette full review!

Best of 2013 Beauty : Yearly Favorites ♥

Hey everyone! First post of 2014, wheeee! Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days, I know I've been very consistent with posting at least every other day since this summer, but I just had to take a few days off to take my mind off of school and the stress of the holidays. Now that I have pretty much recuperated (I've been playing a lot of sims 3! Let me know in the comments if you're still into that game as well!), it's time for me to do my yearly favorites post! I've done one of these almost every year since I started blogging (apparently I missed 2012 for some reason) and I think it's really interesting to see how my tastes in makeup have evolved over the years. In case you're curious, you can check out my best of 2010 and 2011! Now let's get onto this year's favorites!

♥ Brows ♥

2013 is the year that I started paying attention to my brows. While I'm still experimenting and I'm not too comfortable with bold brows yet, I have found at least two products that help my brows look more put togheter but still natural :

1) Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara : Great as a brow gel, but I also use it to tame my crazy baby hairs sometimes! It's super cheap as well.

2) Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Light : Perfect shade for my brows, it doesn't look powdery and it appears natural when applied. It's super inexpensive as well! Love it and been using it all lot this year. It's been in my monthly favorites countless times.

♥ Brushes and Tools ♥

While I'm obviously still very faithful to the Eco Tools brand, this year I have discovered makeup sponges and Real Techniques brushes. I won't list all the brush names here, because it would be too long and because they don't all have official names. The sponge is by Quo and it's 5$ at shopper's Drugmart! It's a steal and I love it! All the brushes are incredibly soft, pick up product well and don't shed. If you're curious about a particular brush in this picture, don't hesitate to contact me or leave a comment about it and I'll be glad to give you more detail!

♥ Face Powder Products

1) NYC Sunny Bronzer : This one has been in three yearly favorites so far. It's pretty impressive considering the 2.97$ price tag! I've gone back and forth between this bronzer and others, but for some reason, I keep coming back to this. It looks effortless and subtle without ever looking orange.

2) ZA 2 Way Cake Foundation : This powder so finely milled that it hides your pores and smooths the skin making it look perfect. It blurs your imperfections, kind of like the Hourglass Ambient powder apparently does (haven't tried that, although I'd love to). I use it as powder over my foundation and it works great to set my makeup and keep it in place all day.

3) Stila Highlighting Duo in Kitten : I bought this because Shaaanxo kept raving about it in her videos and I've been following her forever. I have to agree with her, this highlighter is just perfect and I use it every time I wear makeup.

4) Benefit Hoola Bronzer : Too bad I'm probably never going to want to spend 30$ on a bronzer, because this bronzer just looks so gorgeous on. I mostly wear it in the summer time when I have a tan, since I'm so pale during the winter.

5) Rimmel London Blush in Bronze : I've always loved the Rimmel London blushes, but I used to prefer pinkier one called Pink Sugar. This year I've been more into bronzey cheeks because I feel they're more natural and subtle. This color just look beautiful on the cheeks.

6) Hard Candy Bronzer in Tiki : While the name may be misleading, this is actually a golden highlighter rather than a bronzer. This year was my first year playing with highlighters and this was the first one I ever got. It's an amazing golden shade that gives your face a beautiful healthy glow!

♥ Foundation and Concealer ♥

1) Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation : I've purchased this foundation because Tanya Burr kept raving about it. It's so beautiful and dewy, it's perfect for my dry skin! I love that it's got medium coverage and that it's super inexpensive. It gives a really radiant finish.

2) Maybelline Age Rewind Foundation : This foundation has a light to medium coverage. It doesn't cover so much that you can't see you natural skin underneath which I love especially if I'm going for a very natural look. It glides onto the skin and make it look hydrated even if you have dry patches. Love it!

3) Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer : I've been using this bad boy like crazy for over 2 year now. I prefer it during the summer time when my skin is more hydrated though. It covers really well.

4) Garnier Skin Renew Roll On Tinted Eye Treated : This was a recommendation for one of  Alexfashionbeauty's video on Youtube. A few months back she shared that she was using this concealer in her summer routine and I just had to try it. I love the very thin consistensy and the cooling effect on the under eyes. It's perfect for light coverage, espeically if you tend to have cakeyness under your eyes like I do.

♥ Liner and Lashes ♥

1) Ardell Lashes : Particularly  the 120 demi lashes, the wispies lashes and the 315 accent lashes. They look beautiful on and are very comfortable.

2) Bewitched (?) Black Liquid Liner : I got this in Thailand and I'm not exactly sure of the brand or anything but I've used this liner non-stop for the whole first half of 2013. It's super black and a little shiny and it looks very nice.

3) E.l.f. Black Liquid Liner : This is the liquid liner that I've been using for most of 2013. It's very black and the tip of the brush is so fine that you have a lot of control when applying this. It's kind of sheer on the first swipe which some might not like, but I enjoy since it's more forgiving if you make a mistake.

4) Milani Liquid'eye liner pencil in black : so black, so creamy, doesn't pull at your eyes, stays on forever and is only 6$. What else could I ask for in a liner?

5) Rimmel Liner in Nude : Not many drugstore brands make nude liners at the moment so when I saw this I was really excited. Not only is it a unique drugstore offering, but it's also creamy and looks very nice on the waterline. It instantly makes your eyes pop!

6) Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara :  I've been using this mascara almost exclusively since last January. It's separating, lengthening and volumizing and as the name suggests, it doesn't clump up even if you build it up. I haven't found anything that comes close to this, it's so much better than anything else I've tried that I'm kind of wondering why I keep buying other mascaras.

7) Duo Clear Lash Glue : In 2013, I've also started wearing false lashes. At first, I was kind of discouraged because the glue that comes with some lashes was really irritating my eyes and I thought I simply couldn't wear them. That's until I tried the duo glue, which doesn't irritate my eyes and is super easy to use!

♥ Lip Products ♥

As you can see, I'm still obsessed with lip balm this year!

1) NYX Butter Gloss in

2) NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Beige : Definitely not a beige color, more like a really natural pinky color. It looks beautiful, and it's super pigmented. It smells like sweet cherries which I really love.

3) Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain in Honey : Love the smell, love the balmy and shiny texture and love the fact that it leaves a stain behind. One of the only product that do not look horrendous on my awful chapped lips.

4) Maybelline Babylips Lip balms : I love all of them, but the shades pictured are the ones I tend to go for the most!

5) Sally Hansen Lip balm : super slippery, kind of glossy, light and the smell is nice. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I love them! I finished two of them.

6) Sofltips Pure Lip Balm : Probably discontinued, but I stocked up a while back so I'm still using these. My all time favorite balms. Kind of reminds me of the Sally Hansen balms but even glossier!

♥ Eyes ♥

1) NYX Jumbo Pencils in Milk and Yogourt : perfect bases for your eyeshadows. Milk is perfect for any colorful look (although I find it a little drying) and yogourt is amazing for all my natural everyday looks.

2) Stila in the Light Palette : always a favorite. It has everything I need in term of everyday natural looks. The shades are pigmented and look amazing applied.

3) Darling Girl Cosmetics Shadows : I love all the ones I got, but the one pictured is called Lucky. It's a white color with a strong green shift that is accentuated when applied either over green or a dark color. For some reason this color has been very handy in many looks I have done this year. The quality of the Darling Girl Cosmetics shadows is outstanding and I just cannot get enough.

4) Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to The Bronze : this is so convenient. I like it applied by itself or underneath my taupe or bronze shadows which are the ones I gravitate most towards. Been using it a lot for the past few months.

5) Urban Decay Primer Potion : Second tube of this and I already have a backup waiting for me. I wear it everytime I use eyeshadow and never experience creasing. Love it!

6) Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette : I got this palette at the beginning of the year following the craze on Youtube around the Naked Palettes. The hype was totally justified and I've been using this palette non stop all year. I love the cool toned neutrals, the packaging, the out-of-this-world pigmentation, everything!

♥ Runner Ups - Honorable Mentions - New Favorites ♥

This category is dedicated to new finds, products that are of amazing quality, but that I don't use on a day to day basis, or products that are quickly becoming favorites, but that I feel that I haven't used enough yet to dub as yearly favorites.

1) L'Oréal Infallible Shadow in Amber Rush : Love the texture, love the color, but only had it a couple weeks. I can definitely see this become a regular in my makeup routine though.

2) CoverGirl Stay Fabulous Foundation : Another product I haven't had long enough to justify adding to the list. I love it using the quo foundation sponge. It looks flawless, but not overdone.

3) Maybelline FIT Me Foundation : I'm not a 100% sure about this one yet. It looks great so far, but I need to give it some more time to be certain of how I feel about it.

4) Naked 1 and Naked 3 Palettes : One is surprising (the 1st one) this other, not so much (the 3rd). While many have had the Naked 1 Palette forever, I only got it for Christmas this year thanks to my incredibly sweet and thoughtful boyfriend. Which means I got it only a few weeks after I got the Naked 3. Since I got both of these in December, even though I'm obsessed with them already, I feel like it wouldn't be completely fair to include them in a yearly favorite post, hence why they are in this category.

5) Quo Glamour Box Palette : I love everything about this palette so far, but haven't had the occasion to play with it enough yet. Fast becoming one of my favorites though.

6) Sephora Pencil Liner : This one is in a Forest Green shade, but I've swatched a bunch in store and all of them looked amazing. I don't use this regularly because of the color, but the color range is mind blowing (17 shades I think), the price is right (11$ vs 26$ for Urban Decay Liners), they are super creamy, but set really well so that they don't budge.

7) NYX Slide On Pencils : Again, I have this in an Electric Blue Shade, so I don't use this that often, but it's an amazingly creamy and budge proof eyeliner. It's 10$ at target and the color range is pretty great. I kind of want a bronze shade from this line.

8) NYX Studio Liquid Liner : This one is in coffee, but I also have one in a deep blue shade which I adore. They are super opaque (not always the case with colored liners), they don't flake (also not always the case) and they don't sting your eyes (do I need to say it again?). I love these. So far, I only have colors that I don't necessarily wear on a daily basis, but I'm loving the coffee shade more and more, especially paired with the Naked 3 Palette. May very well become a staple look for me in 2014!

---

That's it for my 2013 Yearly favorites! This post was crazy long! I'm really sorry about that and thank you for sticking around if you're still with me! I guess I just had a bunch of things to say about everything. They're the products I've been crazy over for this whole year afterall... Actually, I've tried to keep things as short as possible because I feel like I could have rambled even longer about every single product if I hadn't stopped myself!

Let me know what you're favorite, go-to products were this year! Did you also enjoy any of the products on this list? Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading :)
