Beauty Empties n4 : Mini Product Reviews

Hey all! Today it's time for another beauty empties post! I have accumulated quite a few products to review for you all so let's get started! Enjoy :)

♥ My Little Pony Bubble Bath - Cute packaging, really yummy smell, it has all the components to be a good bubble bath! It doesn't have any sort of benefit for your skin though, this is purely for the enjoyment of having bubbles in your bath. Would repurchase

♥ Softlips Pure Lip Balm - All time favorite, review here. If I can find it, I Would repurchase

♥ Bonne Bell Lip Smackers Lip Balm in Pineapple - A bit thicker than what I usually go for, but I loved the scent (random trivia : pineapple is my favorite fruit). Would repurchase

♥ TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo - It's hard for me to review shampoo because I feel like they all sort of perform the same. This one is no exception. May repurchase

♥ Bath and Body Works Hand Soap in Winter Candy Apple - even though I think these hand soaps are drying, I really like the scents. This one is a particular favorite of mine. Would repurchase

♥ Equate Eye Makeup Remover - This is supposed to be a dupe for the Neutrogena Oil Free makeup remover. It's similar but it stings my eyes a little bit. Wouldn't repurchase

♥ Glysomed Hand Cream - reviewed here. Already repurchased

♥ Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Spray - Loved this for setting my makeup and getting rid of the powdery look on my skin. However, I don't agree with the 15$ price tag. Wouldn't repurchase

♥ Batiste Dry Shampoo (travel-sized) - Reviewed here. Would repurchase

♥ Bath and Body Works Candles - I have Frosted Cranberry (one of my favorite winter scents), Mahogany Teakwook (surprinsingly I really loved it), Carribean Escape (nice scent, but the scent throw is a little weak), Cinnamon Nut Bread (used to love this kind of scent but I'm a bit over it at this point). Would repurchase

Lip Products

♥ Blistex Lip Medex Medicated Lip Balm - Not finished, but expired so I'm throwing it out. Love the feel of this (it tingles), the scent (smells like old school Noxezma cream to me) and how moisturizing it is. Kind of like the fact that it's in a jar too even though it's not the most hygienic. Would repurchase
♥ Clinique Long Last Glosswear (sample) - Very sticky, not my favorite. It's not completely empty, but it's too old and it started smell odd so I'm throwing it out. Would not purchase
♥ Hard Candy Gloss in Uptown Girl - Also very sticky. Reviewed here. Wouldn't repurchase

Face Products

♥ Bioderma Hydrabio Serum (sample) - Nice and cooling on the skin, but it's a gel formula and it's not quite hydrating enough for my skin. Wouldn't purchase
♥ Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream (Sample) - I've had this for ages. I can't remember how I felt about it before. Seems like a nice exfoliator, but I can't be sure. Might purchase
♥ Bioderma Créaline H2O Eau Micellaire - Forever a favorite! Reviewed here. Already repurchased
♥ Garnier Ultra Lift Night Cream - Pros : it's thick and moisturizing. Also, I love the heavy jar packaging. Cons : it's scented and I have sensitive skin. Verdict? Might repurchase
♥ Bioderma Sensibio AR Moisturizer (sample) - This cream has a medium thickness and applies smoothly. It's nice, but I'm not sure it does what it's supposed to. I'm on the fence about this.

Other

♥ Maybelline Mascaras :  One by One > Mega Plush >Turbo Boost (from favorite to least favorites).  Mega Plush was fine, but only at first, Turbo Boost was meh and I loved the brush and formula on the One by One. One by One is the only one I would repurchase
♥ Toothpaste : Sensodyne Pro-Enamel > Crest Complete with Scope > Colgate Total. Only one of those that I'm not that fond of is the Colgate total because it's not whitening enough for me.
♥ Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizer - Can't remember the name of the scent, but it was bubble gum scented and I hated it Other than that it's a nice hand sanitizer. Would repurchase in different scent
♥ Britney Spears Radiance Perfume (sample) - It's not really my cup of tea. Wouldn't purchase

Wipes
♥ L'Oréal Revitalift > Garnier Fresh - I don't really use wipes anymore since I feel they are too abrasive for my skin. If I had to choose I'd rather purchase the L'Oréal wipes since they are softer.

Cotton Pads
♥ Shiseido Facial Cotton > Prevail Cotton Pads > Swisspers Supreme Cotton Pads > Dollarama Brands Premium Cotton Pads - These range from the best thing that's ever happened to my skin to cheap scratchy cottons for Dollorama. I never knew there could be such a difference in cotton pad quality. I'm totally sold one the Shiseido and would repurchase them.

12 Days of Christmas : Holiday Bath and Body Works Haul

Hey all! Today I have a quick Bath and Body Works haul to share. I got some stuff from the winter and holiday collection and I thought I'd show you all what I chose. I got 4 soaps and 3 medium candles which were 3 for 15$. The larger candles weren't on sale so I passed on that for now. Plus, I still have a few fall candles to finish so I didn't want to end up with a great old pile of candles that are just sitting there.

I went a little less sweet and a little more neutral with the candles this time. I chose Mahogany Teak wood, Eucalyptus Mint and one of my favorites Cranberry Pear Bellini (or is it Peach? I can't remember). I love the packaging on the Bellini candle, it's so pretty I want to display it! I love that it's not shiny because it stays much nicer looking than the shiny tops which I constantly have to wipe down.

For the soaps the picture pretty much says it all. I loved the Winter Candy Apple Scent last year so I bought a soap of it this year, it's so good! I cannot wait to start using it all! I love all the scents I picked up. :D

Did you guys get anything from the Bath and Body Works Winter Collection this year? What are your favorite winter/Christmas scents they make? Let me know in the comments!

Fall 2013 Bath and Body Works Haul

Hello everyone! Going alongside with my fall obsession, I adore anything that has a scent that reminds me of fall. That's why I always look forward to going to Bath and Body Works to get their fall scents the most. I do have a few three wicks candles left from last year's 2 for 20$ sale, so I didn't get any of those this time (plus they were 2 for 32$ which I think is way too expensive).

Check out what I got!
I got 5 hand sanitizers (5 for 5$), 2 mini candles (2 for 6$), one in Pumpkin Cupcake (one of my favorites from last year, I actually finished the three wick candle of this completely) and one in Heirloom Pear which I believe is a new scent. I also got three wallflower refills (3 for 10$), two in Nutmeg and Spice No.1 (my absolute favorite, I'm also almost out of the three wick candle) and one in Pumpkin Cupcake. As you can see, I basically stocked up on my favorites this year. I have a 30% off coupon which I might use on three wick candles if they have the 2 for 20$ sale any time soon. Last thing I picked up is the cutest owl wallflower ever. It was 7.50$, but I couldn't pass it up, it's just perfect for fall! It now sits proudly in my bathroom and I'm really glad I got it.

---

That's all I got from Bath and Body Works! If you'd like a review of any of these products let me know! Also, what is your favorite fall scent?

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing a little (maybe not that little actually!) haul from my recent trip to Montreal. I hadn't been shopping in a while so I went a little crazy with accessories and beauty products.

Here's all that I got

I didn't get that much makeup, but I went for skin, nails and accessories this time!

- Bag from Spring (30$)
- Wallet from Access (20$)
- Accessories : bracelets, scarf, hair clip and earrings from Ardène, Necklaces from Forever 21
- Skin care : Bioderma, Laroche Posay from Shopper's Drugmart
- Mascara and Makeup wipes from Shopper's Drugmart
- Perfume from Victoria Secret
- Nail polish, base and top coat from Winners

---

On an unrelated topic, I'm moving (yes, again!) very soon. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be moving around mid June in a new building a few minutes away from where I live. It's closer to the university and much much nicer! We haven't had confirmation yet, so I'm anxiously waiting to know if we got it. Wish me luck!

That's all for today :) Hope you enjoyed this Haul!

October/Recent Favorites

I haven't done a favorites posts in a while and since october just ended I thought it would be a good time for it! Since I haven't posted my faves for a little bit, I will also include a couple things that I have been loving for longer than just the last month. This time, I have a ton of non beauty favorites also :)

Let's start with the beauty favorites for this month!

Beauty Favorites

Za Energy Mist : This is an hydrating spray for your face. I got this while in Thailand a couple months back. I like spraying this over makeup for a fresh less powdery look.

Glysomed Hand Cream : this hand cream leaves a fantastic feeling behind. My hands feel softer than with any other creams I have used before.

Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner (Blackest Black) : Great easy to work with and affordable gel liner from the drugstore. I like to use it with an angled brush, for a nice defined line.

Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil (Black) : The creamiest liner I have ever tried. It doesn't tug at your eye while applying and is incredibly black. The staying power is impressive also considering how soft this pencil is. I actually like this better than the Urban Decay Pencils and they are a lot cheaper.

Wet n Wild Shadows : my favorites palettes at the moment are
- Silent teatment (I love the taupe lid color at the bottom best)
- Comfort Zone (I love every shade in this palette, but I would say my least favorite is the yellowish browbone color because it's not that pigmented and chalky)
- Walking on Eggshells (again I love every color of the palette)

Wet n Wild : these don't have a name, but as you can tell it's a deep shimmery red and a redish pink glitter.

Revlon Iced Spice : Love this orangey beige frosted color. It looks quite neutral on and very wearable.

Sally Hansen Greige Gardens : I love the applicator of these Sally Hansen polishes. Since I have large nail beds, it's perfect for an easy application for me. I've been wearing this color non stop lately. It's understated, but chic and looks polished.

Essie Shine of the times : Beautiful flaky (glass flecks) top coat over just about anything. The main colors that stand out are red, orange and green. Perfect for fall.

Za Powder Foundation : love how finely milled this powder foundation is. It makes my skin soft, poreless and perfected. I have read that it can be worn either dry or wet, but I like the finish and the texture I get from using it dry over a BB Cream. The coverage is quite good considering it's a powder foundation too.

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer : this isn't the first time I have included this concealer into my favorites. I still love and use it all the time and it's perfect for my under eyes.

NYX Round Lipstick in B52 : perfect my lips but better color. I have never tried a lipstick more moisturising than this one. I absolutely love it and I'm really glad I was able to find these in Quebec City.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm : I love this lip balm so much, I am almost out of it. Not only does it have the perfect consistency, but it also leaves my lips moisturised even after it's gone.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream : Got this in Thailand in a 7-11 store (of all places lol), I like to use this to even out my skin tone when I don't want anything heavy on my face. The coverage is just what I need and it feels like I have nothing but moisturiser on.

 Random Favorites

Favorite movie

The Nightmare Before Christmas - I love watching this movie around this time of year. It's the perfect combination of Halloween and Christmas, my two favorite holidays!

Favorite TV Shows

Old favorites : New Girl, The big Bang Theory, True Blood, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Lost
New favorites : Walking Dead, The Game of Thrones

Food Favorites

Lately, I've been into anything soup. I love rice and chicken or chicken noodle soup. I also love homemade ramen (especially the spicy kind) with seaweed strips and an hard boiled egg. I've also been loving japanese food this last month. I love sushi (as always), miso ramen and takoyaki. YUM ♥

Favorite Book

The Celestra Series [Addison Moore] : I've discovered this series this summer on Amazon while trying to find a couple books to bring with me on vacation. I am in love with these books. It's a romance fantasy series  about a young girl named Skyla. In the books she learns that she is an angel from a faction that is threatened by others for the power of their blood. Anyway, I don't want to give away too many details about the story, but it's really captivating. I believe there is 7 books (about 200 pages each) in the series. I'm currently reading the fifth and I can't stop reading. Anyway I recommend it if you like fantasy books like me!

Probably the most random thing in this favorites post : my chair cushion! I love this for lounging in bed, whether I'm reading or doing school work. It's super comfy, plush and cozy. ♥

Next random favorite for this month is my new phone the Samsung Galaxy SIII! I am so excited about this, I have been wanting a phone of my own for a while now.  I was waiting because I knew I didn't actually need one that much, but  I finally caved in! So far I love this phone. It's incredibly light and the screen is huge! The camera on there is great too, a definite bonus in my book. Do you like my Mario themed wall paper? I think it's adorable :D

I chose this cover to protect my phone. I got this at Best Buy for around 30$. There wasn't that many different designs to chose from, so I'm glad I found one that I like. I might get more cases and switch them out according to my mood! I love the rhinestones and the transparency of this case and I love that it doesn't make my phone any bulkier.

Since I just got a phone, I thought I would also mention the apps that I have been loving this month! I'd also love it if you guys could share your favorite apps for android, I'm always on the hunt for new games, photo editing apps, etc.

Right now my faves are :

PicsArt : this app is the best photo editor I have found so far. It has countless options and filters and there is even bokeh effects on there. [Free]

PVM (Pumpkins Vs Monsters) : Fun little game that is a cross between bejeweled and Plants Vs Zombies. Really entertaining and quite addictive in my opinion. [Free]

Anything from Kairosoft : here we have Beastie Bay and Pocket Clothier, but I have almost every single game of their series on my Ipod (I played non stop while I was in Thailand this summer). Their games are mostly management games except for Beastie Bay, which I think is new. Beastie Bay is a mix between pokemon and an exploration game. Anyway, I'm a total fan of all their games. I have finished around 10 of their games. [Light version : Free, Full version : ~5$]

And these are some of my favorite fall accessories. The bracelets are all from Thailand and the Heart Necklace is from Forever 21.

Another gadget I have been obsessed with lately is my Kindle. I have been reading like crazy for the past few weeks.

Here is a couple other random favorites of mine for this season :

Winnie the Pooh Blanket : this blanket is super cute and soft! I'm always wrapped into it whenever I'm lounging around the apartment. I just love snuggling into a blanket when it gets colder outside, so this is a definite favorite this time of year.

Bath and Body Works Three Wicks Candles : My three favorite scents at the moment : White Barn n1 Nutmeg and Spices, Pumpkin Cupcake and Pumpkin Caramel Latte

Thick Wool socks : Love these because the are cozy, but also a little feminine with the pink trim :)

Excel Mints : I bought two dozen packs of those at Costco the last time I went. I'm really addicted. They're regular mints, but they taste just like Excel gum which is my favorite. They have most of the Excel gum flavors in mint form (these Winterfresh ones are my favorites though).

Purse : I finally found a purse that I like! I have been looking for a nice medium brown, soft (fake) leather purse forever now. I'm quite specific with the purse designs that I like and I simply couldn't find anything that I was ready to fork out money for. I finally found this one in a small boutique in Montreal and I fell in love with the details on it. It was only 40$ and I'm really pleased with it.

And that's all! Phew, this was a super long favorite post! Hope you enjoyed this! Let me know your favorites for this season in the comments, I'd love to discover new things!

Fall Haul : Bath and Body Works

So I have been stalking the Bath and Body Works website for a while hoping that the two for twenty three wick candle sale would be up soon. Today, when I visited their page, my prayers were finally answered! I practically launched myself out of the door and went to their store right away.

Unfortunately, here in Quebec, the sale is actually two for 25$ Which I cannot understand since, even when the canadian dollars' value is low, the conversion is nowhere near 20 $ USD = 25$ CAD. In fact, at the moment it's only worth 19$ CAD. Anyway, it's kind of a bummer. Also, here is Quebec, in order to benefit from the sale you need to buy an even amount, or you will pay full price for the last one.

Another thing that is kind of annoying with the candles here in Quebec is the packaging. Since we have a law that obligates merchants to have packaging both in french and english, there is no scent description underneath the candles like in the US. I suspect it's simply by lack of space, but nevertheless, I would like to be able to refer to descriptions when I'm shopping.

Anyway, I'm done ranting. Here is all I got!

There wasn't any White Barn n1 large candle left :( so I got three mini ones. It's probably my favorite scent right now!

I also got four large three wick candles :

1 in Pumpkin Caramel Latté
1 in Pumpkin Cupcake
1 in Cinnamon Nut Bread
1 in Frosted Cranberry

Also, the hand sanitizers were 1$ each. I got Brewberry and Vampire Blood

Finally I got a cute snow flake candle holder for 5$. I'll wait until december to use that one though :)

What are your fave fall scents? Let me know in the comments! I love trying out new scents in my home! ♥

EDIT : I was able to find the White Barn #1 candle in laval after all :) I picked it up and I'm almost through burning it already :P

Lately I've been shopping for clothes and shoes for my upcoming trip. I also picked up a couple other things along the way! Here is what I got :)

Tops from : Simons, Forever 21, Forever 21, Winners, Winners

Shorts from : Winners and Garage (isn't that the brightest neon coral ever? <3), Bathing suits from : Garage

A pair of Havaianas flip flops (got them at Winners for half the price!), Crocs (they go with everything and they are incredibly light, perfect for backpacking) and flip flops from Zellers

Rain jacket from Atmosphere, it was more than half price! Super light weight, nice fit, goes with everything, perfect for backpacking <3

Got both Stila products from Winners, 5$ each :D such a bargain! That pencil liner is worth 26$ I think

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual sale is currently going on. These were all 3$ each :D

Tell me if I should review any of the makeup items on here! Packing post is coming soon! I have almost everything I need to start packing my bag, so as soon as I do, I'll show you how I do it!

Christmas Haul and Presents!

This year, I did stockings for everyone in my family. Since it's not a tradition in my family, and since I was so excited about the concept, I really wanted one myself so I decided to make myself one as well :P I also got a couple presents from my brothers and boyfriend and I bought some stuff at the after Christmas sales.

I thought I would share it here, because I love to see hauls, especially Christmas ones! (even though most of this stuff I actually bought for myself :P)

The tiny tree I brought at the dollar store for my dad's appartment! It looks tiny compared to the presents :D

All the little things I put inside my stocking :)

My boyfriend surprised me with a Kindle! I have wanted one for the longest time and keep talking about getting myself one. I was so excited. I still can't believe he got it for me! I had no idea :D

A Garnier kit (19$ for the whole kit, so cheap!) I got myself and my brother's main gift for me : a pink light up miror :D I've wanted one forever!

From my brother, an Hello Kitty Pez keychain (ate all of them already) and a fuzzy squid mini hand bag!

I got clothes too, but I haven't had the time to take good pictures of them yet, so if I remember, I'll post them later on!

Beauty and scents Haul

I'm back with another haul! This time with some Elf, Revlon, Organix and Bath and Body Works!

I'm sorry I have been neglecting my blog lately, but school has kept me busy! (In fact I'm kind of still behind on studying, there is so much to learn). Hopefully I will find more time to post from now on, since I'm getting somewhat used to the rythym at this point.

First up is the Bath and Body Works stuff. That's where I got most of what I bought today. Like I mentionned in my last Bath and Body Works Haul, I got a coupon last time for twenty percent off your whole purchase, so I got  all kinds of goodies.

I ended up picking up mostly fall themed things, and only one Halloween soap. I wanted more Halloween things, but somehow once I got there, the autumn scents were more appealing to me. Here is what I got :

Cute little fox wallflower

The scents I got for the wallflower : tried and true salty caramel and mint chocolate and pumkin caramel latte which I've never tried yet. Salty caramel is plugged right now and it smells so good!
The only Halloween item I got : sweet cinnamon pumkin! The scent is subtle, the soap foamy and the bottle super cute, I love it!

Two small candles : oatmeal raisin cookie and hot chocolate! (hot chocolate is very true to its name, love chocolate scents :D)

I also got shampoo and conditionner which I have been looking for forever! It's made with argan oil, is parabens, sulfate and cruelty free1 It's by Organix and and I cannot wait to try it out! Anyone has tried it? Tell me what you think about it if you have ^^

I also got a nail polish at the drugstore (it was more than half off!) This is a repurchase, I loved this nail polish so much the first time that I had to get it again once it dried off. The color is amazing :D

Finally, last but not least, I got this Elf lip palette at Winners! Now I got tons of colors to use for looks :) I working on a celebrity inspired look which I'll post as soon as I get it right.

That's all! Would you try any of these products? Tell me what you think!

Mini Haul : Bath and Body Works candles and coupons

I've been to Bath and Body Works for the first time this morning (technically it's the second time, I went to check it out really quickly last week with my mom) and I got a couple small candles! I have wanted to go for several months now, but there is no Bath and Body Works in Montreal. You can imagine how I excited I was when I discovered there is one in Quebec City!

They were only 5$ for three (the tiny 45g/1.6oz size) so that's what I got for now :) I wanted to try out the scents first and see if I like the products before I go nuts and get everything :P

I checked out the wallflowers too, but I wasn't sure what scent I should get and I was affraid I would regret it. Plus, they don't have the one scent I'm sure I love so far : Mint chocolate! It's a new scent so maybe it isn't out yet? I hope they'll make it, it's AWESOME :D

Here's what I got ^^

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I got the mint chocolate candle twice! To me, it smells exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream which is my favorite ice cream flavor. YUM :D
This one, the salty caramel, was my boyfriend's favorite scent! It really smells just like the name, sweet caramel with a touch of saltiness. The scent is really potent on this one, I like that

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

So far I'm really pleased to say that I truly enjoy Bath and Body Works candles. The scents are strong and varied and they are not too expensive.

The cashier also gave me a 20% off coupon on all merchandise, but the Wexler products (I don't know what they are?). I'm probably going to pick up a wallflower or Halloween/fall limited soaps and candles :D Yay for Bath and Body Works coupons :)

Bonus picture of my cat being adorable with my doll :P
