DealExtreme Haul #2

I finally received the second part of my order from DealExtreme and I'm really excited!

Basically, all the items I was most looking foward to were in it! :D

Here goes :

Charming Hello Kitty Style Mouse Pad - 4.20$ (pack of two)

Cute Hello Kitty Style USB 2.0 800DPI Optical Mouse - 8.00$

Nail Art Tool Dotting Painting Pen - 1.40$

Lord of the Rings Arwen Copper-Nickel Evenstar Pendant Necklace - 23.26$

I'm especially excited about the pendant :D It's really shiny and pretty. I'm really glad I decided to get it even though it was more expensive than most products on the site. The quality is great and it looks just like the real thing. I was a little scared it would be cheap, but so far I am VERY impressed. Anyhow, if you're a Lotr fan like me it's an awesome buy and you should totally get it! They also have a replica of the ring on a chain which looks quite nice as well :)

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase on DealExtreme. I didn't expect this much. Actually I was kinda expecting half the items to be super cheap and fall apart when they arrived, but I was very wrong. The quality is quite good considering the price you pay, and the shipping relatively quick considering it's free.

I would definitely order from them again!

If you're interested here is where is ordered from!

DealExtreme Haul #1

For anyone that doesn't know what DealExtreme is, it's basically a chinese website, that sells really really cheap products of all kinds with free shipping! The free shipping part is a real benefit, because what keeps me from buying from the Internet is often the shipping price. I couldn't justify spending money on 2$ items and then pay to get it shipped. Since it's free, you don't have to worry about the amount of items/their weight!

Mathieu and I had wanted to try it out for a while and we finally did take the chance and ordered!

Since everything is so absurdly cheap (the quality is not necessarly high on all item, but at that price it's not even a problem) and there's quite a few cute things, we ordered loads of stuff. In the end, our order was split up into two shippiments and this is the first one!

The most exciting items I ordered still haven't arrived yet, but what I got is still pretty cool!

I'll share the prices and product names used on the website as well so if you want to benefit from the deal you'll know what to look for! Make sure to get it quickly though if you want any of this since not all the deals on there are permanent!

Cute Bear Plastic Clothes Peg Hanger - 3,56$

he Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Glow-in-the-Dark Coin Bank - 5,30$

10-inch Flexible Desktop Digital Camera Tripod - 11,70$

Card Captor Sakura The Clow Card Set - 2,50$

925 Silver Bracelet - 1,80$

Cute Hello Kitty Pattern PU Leather Card Holder - 5,52$

Cute Domo-kun Plush Tissue Paper Holder - 4,19$

Hello Kitty Style Digital Camera Bag with Strap & Carabiner Clip - 3,90$

Cute Hello Kitty Style PU Leather Wristband + Metal Dial Quartz Wrist Watch - 4,30$

So far, I'm pleased with everything I received. Obviously it's not high quality, but everything is still in one piece, unbroken and super cute :D So far, so good!

The shipping time was also very reasonnable considering a) it's free, b) it leaves from china. I ordered it on the same night I ordered my brush kit (which I believe was sent from Florida) and it came only a few days later! I was quite suprised and happy to see it come so quickly:)

Have you ever bought/considered ordering from bargain web site like these? Did you have a good experience? Any other good sites to recommend? Let me know in the comments <3

Beauty Haul : Coastal Scents, Walmart, drugstore

This is a collective haul of beauty products I've gotten over the past few weeks. I just received an order I placed on Coastal Scents' website a couple weeks ago, so I thought I would show you :)

I'm really excited by this, it's the 22 piece brush set! It pretty much has every single brush I wanted that I didn't already have, plus tons of eyeshadow backups for looks with multiple colors. I can't wait to start using it. (I need to wait for the brushes to dry, since I just washed them *impatient* )

This is what the brushes came in. Love this brush roll/case! It's light and really convenient :)
These are all the brushes included in the set, minus the fan brush which is further on the left in a separate compartment to keep it from getting squished by the other brushes. There is so many of them :D

So far, for the price I paid for the set (35$ + 9$ shipping), I'm really impressed. I've just washed them and none of them have shed or bled and all of them are super soft ♥

Up next is individual picture of all the brushes I most excited about. I took pictures of all of them, but since there's so many, it would be too long just to post them all! Tell me if you would like me to post a picture of one of the brushes in the set I didn't include!

This is an angled brush. You can use it for contouring (which I'm not really into) or for placing blush or bronzer. It's a little smaller than I expected, but the quality is great.
This fan brush is seriously large! I love it ♥ I was a little worried about this one since I read a comment on CS's page last week about the edges being a little rough, but mine is soft all over, phew!
This may very well be THE brush I've been looking foward to the most. I've been searching for a set including a flat top buffing brush forever, but sets never seem to include them! (probably because they tend to be pricier) When I saw the set had it, I had to get it :D It's dense and very soft. I can't wait to try it out.
This is another brush I really wanted! It's been on my wish list for over a year! Duo fiber brushes are great for any cream or liquid products such as foundation, or cream blush and bronzer. It's supposed to give you an airbrushed effect, which I'm hoping it will :P
This is a standard foundation brush. I didn't have one so I'm glad the set included one. It's super soft and just the right size.
This is a rounded crease brush. I didn't have any crease brushes that wasn't either a blending brush or angled so I can't wait to try this. I'm pretty sure it will be a lot more precise for placing colors in the crease.
I think this is supposed to be a blending brush. I love that it isn't so fluffy so that you can just blend a little without making the colors muddy.
This one is jut like the MAC 219 (at least the shape is the same from what I can tell of pictures - I don't own any MAC brushes so I might be wrong!)  It's not too flimsy so it gives great control for detail-work.

This is the rest of the products I purchased at various drugstores:

I've never really been into lip products before, but lately I've been experimenting! The two lipsticks are from Wet n Wild and were only 1.50$ each great deal :D The fuschia has a matte finish (and the color is awesome) and the pink is somewhat frosty. The gloss was 4.99$ and it's Hard Candy's Glossaholic in Tipsy. It's a huge lipgloss kind of like the MAC Wonderwomen collection's lipglosses. Anyhow, you get a lot of product for the money :D The flecks of glitter in it are beautiful! They really show up on your lips too ♥
All the nail polishes I got. From left to right : Wet n Wild - Burgundy Frost, L.A Colors - White and Wet n Wild - Puple Potion
I also got a sharpener with a large opening for my NYX jumbo pencils (mine were all flat), a glitter/cream shadow palette from the Wet n Wild Halloween collection and a NYX eyeliner in White.

Here's a close up of the lip gloss! Isn't the shimmer so pretty? I love it :D

That's all I got! Tell me what I should review next! :)

Silver, white and blue christmas tree!

I've wanted my own Christmas tree ever since I moved on my own. I haven't had the chance to have one for years since there wasn't any space in previous apartments. This year I was determined to buy one and our new car made that easy!

I don't have that many decorations for it yet, I already had some unbreakable blue, silver and white Christmas ornaments and some snow flakes so I got just one more kit of blue ornaments and the tree which included the blue lights!

The three with the lights on
It's my first time decorating a Christmas tree on my own, I'm pretty happy with the results :D I think there's a bit missing though and I might go out and buy a blue or silver garland and some blue and white candy canes! What do you all think I should add?

Update post!

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been posting much lately. University has been keeping me real busy and it's not about to end :/ which means I probably won't post very often in the days to come either!

I don't have any real substance to write about today, just wanted to let you all know I'm just busy and I will update soon! I'm waiting on two internet purchases I made about 2-3 weeks ago, which should get here soon :) I will probably make a haul for that because there is some exciting stuff in there! Would that be interesting?

Other than that, I went to Montreal for a week during reading week. I had lots of fun, but I didn't take that many interesting pictures to post. I might have a couple which I could post though, so maybe I'll do that soon too :P

Oh and some good news! Mathieu and I purchased a car while we were in Montreal! Public transport here in Quebec City is very different from what we are used to and not very practical in our neighborhood (think 1 bus per hour) so we thought it would make our lives easier. It will also make it possible for us to go to Costco and run errands quickly and easily which wasn't the case so far.

Anyway, the car is nothing fancy, it's a used car, but it's in pretty good shape and I'm really happy with it! Maybe I'll post some pictures soon!

That's all for now I guess I might post about one of the topics I mentioned before, later tonight or this week!

Halloween makeup : Wood Fairy/Elf

Sadly, this might be the last Halloween themed post I get to do this year!

I have an exam coming up in two weeks and I've got to study hard starting now (actually I have started a while ago and I'm almost halfway done), because next week I'm going to Montreal for the reading week. I haven't seen my friends and family for almost two months and I'm super excited to go! Coincidentally, I have a one day internship (is that what you call them?) at the hospital in my neighborhood for school during the time I will be there so it will be a busy week, which means I probably won't have time to study for the exam that I have right when we come back. Anyway, that's why I probably won't have time to make anything else before Halloween!

I came up with this shimmery gold, green and brown look which would be nice for a wood elf or fairy costume or anything like that. It's inspired by the forest, the trees, the leaves, but also by the magic of fairies and the wisdom of elves. I used brown pencil liner to draw the branches and green glittery liner for the leaves. The dark red lips were just for fun, not sure if it's the best pairing I could have chosen, but I think it's a nice contrast to all the green of the eyes!

I had a lot of fun with this look :) and I hope you like it! Tell me what you think in the comments.

Halloween makeup : Tormented Vampire Eyes

This look could probably be used for other costumers than vampires, but the initial idea was to make it look vampire-ish.  It could probably also be a nice fall look if you went easier on the red and underneath the eyes. I exaggerated the purple color under the eyes to make it look bruised and tired.

I used red, purple and black eye shadow for this look. I would have done a whole vampire face, but I don't have the teeth and blood to make it look realistic, so I just did the eyes!

Here is what I came up with :)

Would you use this kind of makeup for a vampire costume? Let me know in the comments!

Halloween eyes : Burnt Pumpkin smokey look

I wanted to play a little bit with orange and black since it's Halloween's most well known colors. I decided on a smokey orange look that is colorful, but not over the top! You could wear this to a Halloween party if you are not going costumed or a dinner or something :)

Tell me what you think!

Sorry for the tired look, I had a long week :P
