My 7 Days Caribbean Cruise in Pictures

Hey everyone! Recently I went on a 7 days Caribbean cruise with my boyfriend and his mom. Ever since, I've been preparing a travel series (packing, beach essentials, in-flight essentials, etc.) for you guys. I thought I would also share a few of my favorite snapshots in case you all are interested!

The cruise was 7 days with 4 stops : Grand Turk, St-Thomas, San Juan and Half Moon Cay. This was my first cruise so I did loads of research before hand to help me pack and know what to expect. We had a fantastic time and I would definitely love to go cruising again!

We chose to go with the Eurodam from Holland America. I truly enjoyed my experience and I would like to try other cruise companies in the future to compare and chose my favorite. (Disney being high on the list!) One of the big plus I found while cruising was the amazing food everyday on the ship. I decided not to include any pics of the food in here because I know not everyone is into that. Instead I'll dedicate a full separate post on the food so if you're not interested, you can skip it!

That's pretty much it! I have over 700 pictures of the trip, but I tried my best to select just a few. Also I didn't include any with my mother in law because I'm not sure she would like to be on here, but I do have a few of my favorite pictures with her in it. Project 10$/Week 2014 Update and Haul - Weeks 24 through 27

Hey everyone! As promised, here is my latest project 10$/week update! I'm still on track and very proud to be :) This is weeks 24 through 27 of my resolution. Check it out :

 Haul

• Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner (7$) : I strongly regret this purchase. It's my first project 10$ purchase that I regret and I'm kicking myself for not researching my purchase before getting this liner. I hate everything about it, it's way too matte, it cracks, it's hard to apply because of the fat pointy hard felt tip brush and you can't get a nice even line with it. Looks like 1 week gone down the drain, oh well :S Hope I've learned my lesson now.
• Tony Moly Party Lover Liquid Liner (7$, on sale) : Now this is what I'm talking about! This liner is the bomb and it's quickly becoming a favorite. The brush is super thin, the formula dark and opaque and it's really budge-proof. <3 It reminds me of my dear E.l.f liquid liner, but I think I like it even more!
• L'Oréal Infallible shadow in Tender Caramel (3$, on sale) : Just like my Amber rush shadow from the same collection, I adore this! Great pigmentation, beautiful color and amazing metallic finish!
• Tony Moly Crystal Jelly Cheek Pot in 07 (7$, on sale) : This cream to powder blush has a really odd consistency, but I've been wearing it non-stop. I love the natural finish and this color suits me quite nicely I think. These Tony Moly products are really great so far, I'm thinking of getting more!
• Maybelline Babyskin Primer (12$) [Not pictured] : I don't have it with me in Montreal at the moment so I haven't had that much time to play around with it yet. I do think it's quite expensive though. Not sure about this yet, but I really wanted to give it a try!

My next purchases are a bit of a dilemma right now. I feel like I have too many options to choose from. I want a few Elf things and I would also like to try the Essence brand. I also really want a MAC palette but it's incredibly expensive (~200$ yikes). I definitely want more Tony Moly products as well as more Korean cosmetics (especially a BB cream!). Finally, I'd like to put some of my budget aside to be able to get stuff from the Sephora Christmas collection since they always have a bunch of really nice gift sets. I'm really unsure about what I should choose. Let me know what you would do if you were me!  It would help me a lot to get all of you guys' opinions. <3

Projet 10$/Week 2014 Update n3 and Haul

So the resolution is still going strong! I must say I'm very proud of my restraint! Here are my latest purchases! 

- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette (67$)
- Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (33$)

Total : 100$ (10 weeks)

Since I had accumulated 500 points at Sephora, I also got the 500 points perk. It's a Laura Mercier kit that includes an exfoliator, a gloss (it smells heavenly!), a highlight powder (super potent!), and a deluxe sample size of their famous foundation primer and tinted moisturizer.

We're now up to week 22 of my new year resolution and we're doing well! I'm really excited about all of my purchases so far and super happy that I've been keeping up with this resolution. It's hard for me to stick to anything (except this blog, I guess I've been doing a pretty good job of sticking to that for the past few years when I think about it), so I'm especially impressed with my self control. Anyway, I'll update you all again in a few weeks with my future purchases. Let me know if you'd like to see reviews of any of these!

Projet 10$/Week 2014 Update and Haul : Recent Purchases

Hey all! Today I'm doing an update on my new year resolution for 2014. Basically, if you haven't seen my new year resolution post, I decided to allow myself a budget of only 10$ per week for makeup throughout 2014 in order to encourage myself to think more about what I'm buying, to make myself wait for things that I want, and to be more sensible in general with my makeup purchases. In other words, I wanted to break my impulse buying habits as far as makeup is concerned. This rule does not apply to product repurchases, meaning once I run out completely of an item I use frequently (or if it goes bad, for example mascara), I can replace it and it doesn't count in my 10$/week budget. I also decided to lay off Bath and Body Works as well as Lush until at least august (which will be my birthday, so I may allow myself to indulge then) or until I finish up all my products, whichever is quicker (probably the former).

Today, I thought I would update you all on how it's going since I have made a few purchases recently. I guess we could call this a haul, although it's really tiny.

Bath and Body Works 

Status : I haven't even been in there for months, let alone buy anything. I'm doing good progress going through my hand soaps and candles, but ultimately I think it's unlikely I will run out of everything before august.

Lush

Status : I haven't been into a Lush store since December 2013. I still have body lotion and a few other bits and bobs to finish which are products that are difficult for me to finish. I'm really starting to crave a bath bomb now, but I am motivated to keep going.

Makeup

Repurchases : I have repurchased my favorite mascara because the ones (yes I have more than one tube) I have are getting old. I haven't broken into the new tube yet, but I'm keeping it as a backup so that I have it as soon as I toss the other two. I also got an Avène Thermal Water Spray which I use as a setting spray after my makeup is done. I have used many different products for this in the past, but all of them are finished now so I needed a new one.

New purchases : I have been lusting over this Bourgeois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation for a long time now. While Bourgeois is easily accessible here, it's quite expensive so I have waiting for the right moment to get it. It was 27$ CAD. (Therefore I'm counting this as 3 weeks) I also got a new perfume which I hadn't counted on. Initially, I hadn't thought about perfumes when I made my nye resolution. However, since I believe this was by no means a necessary purchase, I decided it needed to be included in my makeup budget. The perfume I got is Purr by Katy Perry and it was 20$ (representing two weeks of budget).

Spring 2014 : Life and Updates

Hey everyone! Sorry I have missed a few days of blogging in the last week! I hope you all weren't looking forward to posts by me too much *probably not, lol*! I've been busy with end of trimester exams and a trip to Toronto, so I'm a little late on blogging! Since I'm already late in posting and since I don't have time to blog right away yet, I tought I would quickly update you on how I've been doing. I haven't done that in the longest time it seems!

On the school front, I'm now almost done with my third year of pharmacy. (well not quite, since I have a full summer semester ahead of me, but you know, more than halfway done :P). We've had our grad pictures taken, and almost all theoretical classes are done. We have a lot of internships to do now and it's keeping me quite busy, but I do love it very much! I had exams this weeks and I will be finishing this trimester with three weeks at a local hospital. I'm very nervous about it, but it's going to be interesting as it is the first time I'm going to be at the hospital.

On the personal front, well I don't have time to do much since I'm working in a pharmacy part time now (I love my job! I have really great coworkers!). We went for a week end in Toronto recently, which was fantastic! I got to see my closest friend Frederika from French Gypsy (loveeee ♥) which I hadn't seen in forever, so that rocked. We also went to a electronic music event (that's just a fancy way to say we went to a rave :P)  where many of my all time favorite artists were dj-ing or performing (Force, Darren Styles, Jenna, Mc Whizzkid and Fracus). It was incredible and we had lots of fun! (it was called Heart of Gold 3 in case anyone is interested). Frederika who is also an amazing photographer did a mini photoshoot for me while I was there featuring a makeup look that I did. The photos came out pretty amazing if I do say so myself! She's really incredible, you should check her out!

By far the best ramen I had in a long time! We went for lunch at a ramen shop in Toronto and it was out of this world

12: Favourite song? I have so many favorites. Lately I've been listening to Black by The M Machine often, so I guess we could say that's my current favorite!

21: How long does it take you to shower? It depends on if I need to wash my hair. If I don't, about 5 minutes. If I do, around 10 minutes maybe?

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Again it depends on my hair. If I have to wash and dry it, I would say about one hour and a half. If my hair is already clean then anywhere between 10 and 45 minutes depending on what kind of makeup I decide to do (none, basic, or more elaborate).

23: Ever been in a physical fight? No

24: Turn on? Don't feel like answering this one

25: Turn off? Bad breath I guess

26: The reason I joined Blogger? I like to write and I wanted to share my toughts. I never tought I would be doing so many makeup looks or that I would ever be any good at it, but I super happy about how things turned out!

10 Things I love About Spring

1) Longer days, meaning you can spend an evening out and it's still light outside
2) Eating on terrasses
3) Flowers in Bloom - Lilacs are my favorites ♥
4) Weather getting warmer - No need for heavy coat and boots anymore!
5) The feminine fashion - Pastels, florals and lace are my favorites.
6) Birds chirping in the morning - They all migrate south during the winter so I'm always glad to hear them sing once Spring rolls around and they come back.
7) Being able to enjoy walks outside again - Because who wants to go out when it's -20 outside?
8) Motivation to be healthy again - Winter is just unmotivating both in terms of exercise and diet.
9) No more heating - Meaning it's going to be less dry in the apartment and my electricity bill will be much more acceptable, yay!
10) No more snow :D 

11) BONUS : Roadtrips! - I'm going to be road tripping to Toronto for the weekend very soon. Cannot wait to blast music in the car with all the windows rolled down. It's going to be great ♥

Tag : 40 Beauty Questions

Hey all! I'm still supposed to be studying and I'm fresh out of posts to share so I'm going for quick posts until I have time to make some more! This is a 40 beauty questions tag. How you all enjoy it!

1- How many times do you wash your face daily? - Most of the time just once.

2 - What skin type do you have? - My skin is a little confusing. Most of the time I have combination dry skin, but sometimes it gets randomly oily for a few weeks.
3 - What is your current facial wash? - I use the L'Oréal Go 360 Clean Face Wash.
4 - Do you exfoliate? - Yes, but not very often because I'm super lazy.
5 - What brand do you use? - I never used any other brand than the St-Yves apricot scrub.
6 - What moisturiser do you use? - I change it up. Right now I use Neutrogena Oil-Free.
7 - Do you have freckles? - If I get tan I have a few on my nose and cheeks.
8 - Do you use eye cream? - Yes, the skin around my eyes tends to be dry.
9 - Do you or did you have acne prone skin? -Yes, but it's gotten a lot better recently.
10 - Did you ever use ProActiv? - Nope, my skin was never bad enough for me to need it.
11 - What foundation do you use? - My current favorites are Rimmel Wake me Up foundation, CoverGirl Stay Fabulous foundation and Maybelline Fit Me foundation.
12 - How about concealer? - I just started using MAC Pro Longwear. I also love the Garnier Roll-on concealer and Maybelline Mineral Power at the moment.
13 - Do you know your undertone colour? - Yes, I'm quite sure my undertone is pink.
14 - What do you think of fake eyelashes? - Love them for dramatic looks. Don't really wear them out of the house though.
15 - Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months? - Yes, but I'm really bad at it. I always have too many mascaras at once.
16 - What brand of mascara do you use? - The only one I like right now is the CoverGirl Clump Crusher.
17 - Sephora or Mac? - I don't really own much from MAC, so Sephora for me.
18 - Do you have a MAC Pro-Card? - I don't have one, wouldn't have a use for it.
19 - What make-up tools do you use in make-up application? - I love Eco Tools, Real Techniques and the Quo Blending Sponge.
20 - Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes? - Yes, I use UDPP all the time.

21 - For the face? - I like the L'Oréal Magic Lumi Primer. I'd like to try the Maybelline Babyskin also.

22 - What is your favourite eye shadow? (Colour or Shade) - That's an impossible question, especially since eyeshadow is my favorite makeup item. I really like shimmery champagne shades.

23 - Do you use pencil or liquid eye-liner?- Liquid or gel on my upper lashline and pencil on the waterline.
24 - How often do you poke your eyes with an eye liner pencil? - Rarely, I'm more prone to poking my eye with mascara wands for some reason.
25 - What do you think of pigment eye shadows? - I love them even though they're messy as hell.
26 - Do you use mineral make-up? - Not really, not that I would mind trying it.
27 - What is your favourite lipstick? - I like B52 by NYX and the Revlon Balm Stain in Honey.
28 - How about lip gloss? - NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Beige and Estée Lauder lipgloss in Blush.
29 - What is your favourite blush? - Not sure... I just got Orgasm by Nars which I feel like I will love, but haven't had enough time to play with it yet.
30 - Do you buy make-up on e-bay? - No, I'd be afraid of getting fakes/used products. I like amazon though.
31 - Do you like drug store make-up? - Yes, most of my collection is from the drugstore.
32 - Do you go to CCO's? (Cosmetic Company Outlets) -Don't think there are any of those where I live. At least not that I'm aware of.
33 - Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? - Not really, I'm happy teaching myself how to do it. It's not like I want to be a makeup artist anyway.
34 - Are you clumsy in putting on make-up? - I used to be, but not anymore. I'm still struggling with liner though. 
35 - Name a make-up crime that you hate? - Over the top bronzer that makes your skin look dirty or overdone contouring that looks fake.
36 - Do you like colourful shades of make-up (lipstick, eye shadow) or neutral tones? - Both, I do tons of colorful looks for the blog and I adore it, but for everyday I stick to neutral makeup.
37 - Which celebrity always has great make-up? - Hilary Duff and Jennifer Lopez. I also really like Kim Kardashian's makeup although I sometimes feel like it's a bit over the top.
38 - If you could leave the house with just ONE Make-up item, what would you use? - I think it would be either foundation/concealer or mascara depending on how my skin looks that day.
39 - Could you ever leave the house without any make-up on? - I do most of the time. I don't feel like makeup is necessary, but I do enjoy it.
40 - Do you think you look good even without any make-up on? - Sure, some mornings I feel like I look a bit tired without it, but overall I like my regular bare face :)
41 - In your opinion, what is the BEST make-up line? - Cannot decide, different brands excel in different products in my opinion.
42 - What do you think of Make-up? - It's fun to play with. Not necessary by any means (at least in my opinion), but it's great to experiment with new looks. For me, it's almost like art, like painting a canvas (quite cliché I know, but that's really how I feel about it!).

The Blog is 3 Years Old!

Hey everone! Today I'm celebrating this blog's three year anniversary! I'm really excited! I never thought I would blog for three entire years, but here we are. It feels surreal, time goes by really quickly! I don't plan on slowing down my posting any time soon either. 2013 has been a really productive year for me in terms of blogging. I've posted more than ever before and I've grown and learned immensely in terms of makeup application, photo retouching, lighting, etc. I'm really pleased with what the blog looks like and has to offer now and I'm more motivated than ever to keep going! I really hope you all enjoy the blog as much as I enjoy writing it  :) Thanks to all my loyal followers, my friends and my family which have supported me a lot this year! It means a lot to me to see all your comments and likes on Facebook ♥

Also, I wanted to mention that I recently got to 100 000 pages views! It's a really big milestone for me. I'd been waiting to get there for a long time! I'm really proud of what I have achieved with this blog :D
