The Best Beverage For Cold Weather : My Tea Collection

Hey everyone! Today, I thought I would share my tea collection with you all. :) It's one of my favorite beverages when the weather gets cold out and December and January are usually some of the coldest around here, so it's around this time of the year that I'm drinking the most of it. Leave me a comment if you're also a tea lover! ♥

As you can see, most of my tea either comes from China Town of David's Tea! I especially love Oolong and Green Tea :) What are your favorite teas? Let me know, I'm always looking for new ones to try out.

12 Days of Christmas : Winter 2013 Beauty Haul (Sephora, Drugstore, NYX, Lashes)

In keeping with the haul theme, I have a winter beauty haul to share with you guys. We went to NYC recently and I don't get to shop in the us very frequently so I kind of spoiled myself a little bit. I got an Holiday kit at Sephora, some stuff from the drugstore and quite a few NYX items and lashes from a beauty store.

First I got a bunch of NYX stuff. We do get some NYX around here, but we usually only get a few items and they are pretty pricey. I went to a beauty store in NYC and they had a huge selection so I decided to pick up some of the stuff I have been lusting over for a while. I got 2 powder blushes, a pink lip liner, a brow kit, two of the round lipsticks, two of the Mega Shine Glosses and one of the famous Butter Glosses. Now that I look back I wish I had gotten more colors of the Butter glosses. I also got some Red Cherry Lashes (never seen them around here) which were only 3$ each! I got some Ardell brown lashes for a look I've been planning on for a while and two glitters from a brand I don't really know.

From Sephora, I got the Tarte of Giving Holiday kit. I am soooo excited about this kit! I've been using the oil and eye treatment a lot lately and they're perfect for dry skin! The palette is gorgeous and so is the blush. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet with the end of my trimester and everything, but I cannot wait! It's such a good value. ♥

Lastly I picked up some stuff from the drugstore. I decided not to go too crazy with it since I had already spent so much. I went for items that I can't find over here only. I got a limited edition Wet n Wild Palette (never find those anywhere so I was really excited when I spotted it), the Jordana Best Lash Extreme mascara which everyone raves about (only 3$!), two Wet n Wild singles, a Blue mascara by Maybelline, one of the new Babylips and the Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Kiss which I had seen a Youtuber from Quebec mentioning in her favorites recently (not available in Quebec either). Last but not least, I got the L'Oréal infallible shadow in Amber Rush. I've been looking everywhere for this shade, but no drugstore seem to have this particular one. Unless it's called something different over here, I don't think we have it, or it's always sold out. Anyway, I'm really excited to have finally been able to get my hands on it!

That's all I got! I hope you all enjoyed this and let me know if there are any products that you would like to see reviewed!

12 Days of Christmas : Holiday Bath and Body Works Haul

Hey all! Today I have a quick Bath and Body Works haul to share. I got some stuff from the winter and holiday collection and I thought I'd show you all what I chose. I got 4 soaps and 3 medium candles which were 3 for 15$. The larger candles weren't on sale so I passed on that for now. Plus, I still have a few fall candles to finish so I didn't want to end up with a great old pile of candles that are just sitting there.

I went a little less sweet and a little more neutral with the candles this time. I chose Mahogany Teak wood, Eucalyptus Mint and one of my favorites Cranberry Pear Bellini (or is it Peach? I can't remember). I love the packaging on the Bellini candle, it's so pretty I want to display it! I love that it's not shiny because it stays much nicer looking than the shiny tops which I constantly have to wipe down.

For the soaps the picture pretty much says it all. I loved the Winter Candy Apple Scent last year so I bought a soap of it this year, it's so good! I cannot wait to start using it all! I love all the scents I picked up. :D

Did you guys get anything from the Bath and Body Works Winter Collection this year? What are your favorite winter/Christmas scents they make? Let me know in the comments!

12 Days of Christmas : Christmas Tag

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the 12 days of Christmas! I can't believe Christmas is already only 6 days away (well 5 if you count Christmas Eve)! I'm super excited and making these Christmas related post are only making me even more excited for my favorite holiday of the year. Anyway, today, I'm doing the Christmas Tag! This is an old tag that used to go around last year on Youtube. I added question eleven because I wanted to mention my favorite Christmas drink. Hope you all enjoy this! Who's excited for Christmas?

TAG questions:

1.Whats Your Favorite Holiday Movie?
The Grinch and The Santa Clause.  I also really love the Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm not 100% sure that would count as a Christmas movie though :P Oh, and let's not forget Home Alone!

2. Whats Your Favorite Christmas Color?
For my nails I like red and for everything else definitely gold!

3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?
Neither. We don't do Christmas morning at my house, only Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner, but it's really casual so I don't dress up or anything, I just dress like I normally would.

4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be?
Not sure, probably my boyfriend :)

5. Do You Open Your Present Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
Christmas Eve!

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
No, but I would love to, it looks like a lot of fun. In fact, I can't remember the last time I had gingerbread cookies. Maybe I should make some this year, anyone got a good recipe?

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
The past few years, I've been going to my parents' house in Montreal and spent most of my holidays there. We go shopping for presents, prepare the Christmas food and just relax at home. I also take that opportunity to see friends and go out!

8. Any Christmas Wishes?
None come to mind at the moment.

9. Favorite Christmas Smell?
The Christmas food, omnomnom! Oh, and the White Barn N1 Scent from Bath and Body Works. :) Cannot get enough of that candle. ♥

10. Favorite Christmas Meal Or Treat?
I'm not sure, either meat pie or the fudge my mom makes.

11. Favorite holiday drink?
Since last year I've really been liking the Gingerbread latte and Skinny Peppermint mocha at Starbucks.

That's all for today's tag! I hope it was fun for you all! Also, I tag anyone that wants to do this :D

My Winter Skincare Routine

Hey all! Today I'm sharing my winter skincare routine with you. I'm always interested to know products people use on a daily basis to keep their skin healthy and radiant so in case you were curious about what I'm using, I decided that I would make a blog post about it!

During the winter time, it gets very cold here in Quebec City (It can get as cold as -30 degrees celsius or -22 degrees fahrenheit) which means that my face, lips and body become quite dry. Also, the fact we have the heat on constantly in the house makes my skin even more dry.  Because of that, I need heavier products to help me keep my skin and lips from chapping, which is why I have a different skin care routine during the winter.

  • For my body, I like to use the Coconut Body Butter from The Body Shop during the winter months. It's very thick and hydrating which means it's perfect to keep my skin in good shape throughout the colder weather. I use this whenever I feel like my skin needs it.
  • I also like to use Massage Bars by Lush at the end of some of my showers. Hot water can dehydrate the skin so by applying this oily product to the skin at the end of my shower, it forms a layer of protection on the skin which keep the moisture from the skin from evaporating once you get out of the shower. I like to use this at night because it does leave the skin with an oily residue.
  • Last, I use the Glysomed Hand Cream several times a day. It's my absolute favorite hand cream because it leaves my hands very silky, but not oily. My hands are so soft and nourished after this, I've never seen anything like it.

My face is the most prone to getting dry during the winter. I get dry patches on my nose and forehead (the flaky noticeable kind, yuck) and my under eyes get very dry. Because of this, I use much heavier moisturisers during the day and night time.

  • For the day, I like to use the Avène Eau Thermale Tolérance Extrême Cream. It's quite thick and it definitely gives much needed hydration to the skin. It's also great for my sensitive skin which has a tendency to be more prone to eczema during the winter time. This moisturizer is specifically designed with eczema prone skin in mind which makes it a perfect choice for me.
  • For the night, I use the Garnier Ultra-Lift Firming Night Cream. It's a nice thick cream which feels great on the skin. It does have a scent to it, which I'm not too fond of since my skin tends to be extra sensitive during the winter, but I'm almost done with this jar so I'll try something new next time.
  • Eye cream is critical for me during the winter months because I sometimes get eczema around the eyes and dry patches on my lids. I like this Olay Eye Cream to help soften my eye area. It's a gel formula so it's not too oily for the delicate eye area.
  • As far as my cleansing routine is concerned, it's the same year round. I do tend to exfoliate more often during the winter time because dry skin tends to make my skin look dull. I exfoliate about 2 to 3 times a week during the winter, while I may do it maybe only once a week during the summer. I've been using the St-Yves Apricot Scrub for years now and I like it.
  • Last, I like to use the L'Oréal Go 360 Clean Facial Cleanser to wash my face at night. I like the scrub that it comes with and it feels fresh on the skin. I think it's a great cleanser for year round.

Next, for my lips, I do pretty much the same thing year round because I get super chapped lips no matter how much water I drink and how often I apply lip balm. It's always been that way (and that's probably why I have an almost unhealthy obsession with lip balm, ahaha).

  • In the morning and at night, before applying lip balm, I exfoliate my lips using the Popcorn Lip Scrub by Lush. It gets rid of any dead skin and helps smooth my chapped lips before I apply any lip product. It's definitely been my holy grail ever since I got it this past summer.
  • Next, if it's morning, I will apply a light balm such as Maybelline Babylips or Softlips or something like that.
  • At night, I prefer something heavier such as Blistex Lip Medex, Nivea Lip Butter or Vaseline Lip therapy.

Lastly, I thought I would mention the products that I use for makeup removal, which is, in my opinion, also a crucial step in any skin care routine. Efficient makeup removal is super important if you want healthy and clear skin.

  • First, I remove my eye makeup using Equate Eye Makeup Remover. It's somewhat similar to the Neutrogena Oil Free Makeup remover, but I don't like it as much. The reason I use this one anyway is because I wanted to try it and now I have a full bottle of it which I'm trying to use up. Anyway, it does work to remove my makeup ok, so it does the job for now.
  • Next I Remove the bulk of my face makeup using Equate Facial Cleansing Towelettes which I'm a very big fan of.
  • Last, to make sure that all my makeup is removed and that there isn't any oily residue on my skin from the makeup remover, I use Bioderma on a cotton pad all over my face. This is a no-rinse face makeup remover that is very gentle on the skin. It sort of feels like putting water on your face, but you can see it remove all the rest of the makeup that all the other products couldn't get. If I'm going to wash my face soon, I may skip this step, but if I go let's say, a few hours before washing my face, I will always use Bioderma to end up my makeup removal routine.
---

That's all I do to my skin on an everyday basis during the winter time to help keep it clear and healthy looking! I hope you find this helpful or interesting. :)
