Tag : Holiday Traditions :)

I'm really excited for the holidays :D Not only is it my favorite time of the year, but it also means I have two weeks off from Uni! Cannot wait to relax all day and not feel guilty about it :P

Anyway, since I really enjoy getting in the spirit of the holidays, I decided to do this tag I've seen going around on YouTube!

Questions:

1) Which holiday do you celebrate?

I celebrate Christmas :) It's my favorite holiday!

2) What are you doing for the holidays this year?

I will spend it with my family, boyfriend and cats (yep I'm bringing them!) in Montreal. We will also see his family while we're there. We might also take a little vacation somewhere around the 31st! No firm plans yet though.

The tiny Christmas tree we had at home, for lack of enough space :) Isn't it cute?

3) What's your favorite holiday drink?

Believe it or not, I don't have one! In my family, there isn't really any drinks associated with Christmas. My favorite winter drink is hot chocolate though! Does that count?

4) Candy cane or Gingerbread men?

I've only had Gingerbread men a couple times in my life and that was very long ago. I'm not sure I remember the taste, so I'll go for candy cane. I'd love to give gingerbread men a try :)

5) What's your favorite holiday/Christmas song?

Where are you Christmas - Faith Hill (I like the version from The Grinch <3)

6) What's the weirdest gift you've ever received?

I honestly have no idea. I don't think I ever got a weird gift. I guess that's lucky :3

7) Have you ever made a snowman?

Yep tons of times, and snow angels :D Since we have a couple feet of snow every year over here, it's kind of hard not to!

That's the view from our old appartment. There wasn't that much snow yet, but it was really pretty out :D

8) What is your favorite winter fragrance?

Just my regular favorite fragrance : Jean Paul Gaultier Classique. It's particularly great for winter though, since it's a spicy vanilla kind of scent.

9) What is at the top of your list this Christmas? (or whichever holiday you celebrate!)

A Kindle!

10) What is most important to you about the holidays?

Getting together with the family, and the yummy food! I love the atmosphere, the decoration and the lights too <3

First video : Christmas Green and Gold Metallic Party Tutorial

Alright so I thought it would be nice to show you the process for achieving this look instead of just posting pictures for once :P I tryed making a picture tutorial, but I'm too impatient and I could never get the angles right to really show what I'm doing.

So I decided to take a chance a make a video about it. No talking just text and the video :) I'm not 100% happy with the way it turned out (weird angles - couldn't find any music to add - the camera quality isn't that great), but I think it still gives  good idea of how you can achieve this look!

The look is a holiday/christmas party look. I chose the traditionnal colors : Green and gold on the lids, as well as red on the lips!

And here a the pictures from the video of the look :)

Annoying piece of hair sticking out in almost every picture XD

Please leave me feedback in the comments about the video! Please don't be too difficult though x_x it's my very first video. Tell me what I should improve on/what you liked :D Should I do any more of these? Was it helpful?

New Background + Banner :D

I felt like changing the blog up a little so I changed the theme and the background. This background can be found in the Blogger's default background bank. Not bad right?

I always find it hard to find a background that I like, so I'm pretty happy I got off easy this time :P

Tell me what you think! Do you like this new berry/purple look?

Food Snapshots

It feels like I haven't posted about food in forever so I thought I would share a couple recent random food snapshots :)

I don't have a lot of pictures since I don't have any time to cook or bake with school these days! There should be more food posts in the upcoming weeks though, since I will be spending Christmas in Montreal and I will probably bake a few deserts to bring to Christmas parties!

These are savory pastries (except for the cupcakes in the right corner) from my favorite asian pastry shop in Chinatown Harmonie. All of these cost us only 13$ - There is cheese bread a garlic bun, plus egg and ham, tuna, teriyaki chicken and beef curry pastries

Raspberry yogourt with granola and fresh raspberries! Healthy and so delicious :)

My dinner at L'Académie restaurant. It's a filet mignon (6 oz I believe) in port wine sauce. It's great! I also love their duck duo.

Caramel molten cake with vanilla ice cream - LOVE

Afternoon snack at Tim Hortons - I love their timbits :D
That's all for now! I hope I'll have more yummy pictures to share soon!

What are your plans for the holidays? What are your favorite holiday foods? Mine are tourtière (meat pie), sucre à la crème (I have no idea if it has an english name, sorry!), cheese and pâtés with bread and my mom's ragoût de boulettes (meatball stew I think it's called). Actually there is probably a ton other things I adore, but I can't think of any more right now. Let me know in the comments what your favorites are! :D
