Halloween makeup : Wood Fairy/Elf

Sadly, this might be the last Halloween themed post I get to do this year!

I have an exam coming up in two weeks and I've got to study hard starting now (actually I have started a while ago and I'm almost halfway done), because next week I'm going to Montreal for the reading week. I haven't seen my friends and family for almost two months and I'm super excited to go! Coincidentally, I have a one day internship (is that what you call them?) at the hospital in my neighborhood for school during the time I will be there so it will be a busy week, which means I probably won't have time to study for the exam that I have right when we come back. Anyway, that's why I probably won't have time to make anything else before Halloween!

I came up with this shimmery gold, green and brown look which would be nice for a wood elf or fairy costume or anything like that. It's inspired by the forest, the trees, the leaves, but also by the magic of fairies and the wisdom of elves. I used brown pencil liner to draw the branches and green glittery liner for the leaves. The dark red lips were just for fun, not sure if it's the best pairing I could have chosen, but I think it's a nice contrast to all the green of the eyes!

I had a lot of fun with this look :) and I hope you like it! Tell me what you think in the comments.

Halloween makeup : Tormented Vampire Eyes

This look could probably be used for other costumers than vampires, but the initial idea was to make it look vampire-ish.  It could probably also be a nice fall look if you went easier on the red and underneath the eyes. I exaggerated the purple color under the eyes to make it look bruised and tired.

I used red, purple and black eye shadow for this look. I would have done a whole vampire face, but I don't have the teeth and blood to make it look realistic, so I just did the eyes!

Here is what I came up with :)

Would you use this kind of makeup for a vampire costume? Let me know in the comments!

Halloween eyes : Burnt Pumpkin smokey look

I wanted to play a little bit with orange and black since it's Halloween's most well known colors. I decided on a smokey orange look that is colorful, but not over the top! You could wear this to a Halloween party if you are not going costumed or a dinner or something :)

Tell me what you think!

Sorry for the tired look, I had a long week :P

Halloween eyes : Sweet Candy Corn

Here is a Halloween makeup inspired by candy corn! Believe it or not, I've never had it! It's not very popular around where I live, I've never even seen them sold. Apparently they're very good though and the colors are very eye catching so I decided to reproduce it on my lids :P

For anyone like me who never had it, this is what it looks like:

And this is what I came up with, not exactly in the same order, but close enough :P

I used the BH 120 palette 1st edition over Nyx Jumbo Eye pencil in milk, liquid black liner and mascara, and black on the waterline :)

Might be back with more Halloween/fall looks soon! I just got a big test recently and I have been studying like mad, but now I have a little (and that really means only a little, I gotta start studying for another test all over again in like 2 days) time so I might make more!

Tell me what you would like to see :D

Halloween nails : Ghastly Mani

I made these super easy and quick nails today! They are adorable and anyone can make them! I wore them to school today :)

I wish I was better at cleaning the edges, it would look so much more crisp

If you can read french, you can notice I took the pictures in front of my lab worksheets which are about suppositories XD oops

All I used is :

- White polish
- Black polish
- The back of two different size brushes (for the eyes and mouth)
- Needle (for the white white dot in the eyes)
-Top Coat

Do you like spooky themed nails? Any suggestions for more themed nail art? Let me know!

Halloween Makeup : Spider Web

This i my first attempt at Halloween makeup! I'm not a fan of anything gore looking, so I went with something that isn't too scary to look at a spider web eye! I wouldn't say it turned out exactly how I wanted it to (my drawing skills with a liquid liner definitely aren't there yet), but it's still fine for a first try I think :P

Anyway, I did a shimmery white lid, with a black cut crease and a spiderweb extending from the eyeliner into the hairline. I added, of course, tons of mascara to create spider lashes (pun intended :D), because it is definitely fitting with this look!

Tell me what you think, should I try some more Halloween looks?

My Current Hair Care Routine

I thought I would share my hair care routine with all of you!

First, I guess I should talk about my hair type so that you know what type of hair it works for!

- I have fine hair and I have a lots of it!
- My hair is very long and quite straight.
- It isn't colored.
- I use heat on it once a week on average.
- I haven't cut my hair in about two years (I know, beauty sin! :S I wanted it to grow lol - I'm getting a trim soon, I promise)
- It doesn't have a tendency to get very tangled or break a lot, but the ends tend to be dry and frizzy.
- I wash my hair 2 to 3 times a week, usually every other day.

Now with this said, this is how I keep my hair shiny and healthy looking:

1) First up is shampoo and conditionner. I like to try new things all the time and I barely ever repurchase. Right now I'm using this Argan oil, sulfate free, parabens free shampoo and conditionner by Organix.

So far it works nicely, doesn't leave any residue in my hair like other shampoo do. It helps my hair look clean longer. The shampoo's texture is unusual (a little bit lumpy), but it lathers just fine. The conditionner isn't as conditonning as I'm used to, so I always deep condition afterwards. Another shampoo and conditionner combo I love is the Moist by Aussie. The conditionner is super rich and really conditionning and it smells amazing!

2) Next is the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle deep conditionner. I use this after every shampoo, I love the smells and it really helps make my hair smooth and soft.

3) When I come out of the shower, I keep my hair in a towel (apparently it's not very good for your hair?) for about 10 minutes.

4) After that, I comb my hair with a wide tooth comb and separate my hair where I when my part to be.

5) Then, I use the Chi Silk Infusion (which has an oily consistency) on my ends. I use about the size of a quarter of that in my hair. For shorter hair a nickel size amount would be enough I think.

6) After that I spray Aussie Sydney Smooth leave in conditionner in my hair and comb everything through my hair. If I'm going to let it air dry (most of the time), I will leave it like that.

7) *Optional* If I need to blow dry it because I need to go out soon, I also spray some Tresemmé heat protectant in it before I blow dry. After blow drying, sometimes my hair gets tons of flyaways, if that happens I use the tiniest bit of John Frieda Secret weapon to tame it.

I will sometimes flat iron my hair too. Depending on if I had to blow dry my hair first or not, I will use the Tressemmé heat protectant to protect it.

That's all I do on most days!

If by any chance I'm running late or have to go out unexpectedly and my hair isn't clean enough (let's say it's a little oily, but not a lot because otherwise even this method won't make it look presentable)

1) First I spray a little bit of this Tresemmé Fresh Start to make it smell nice.

2) Then I spray a small amount of Batiste dry shampoo in my hair, working in sections on the top of my hair and working it in with my fingers, then brushing it out.

That's about all I do to my hair! Any other tips you all might want to share? A product to recommend? I'd love to hear about it! Tell me in the comments :)

Hair inspiration

I've been thinking about cutting my hair lately (nothing too rash really, just trimming the ends and maybe a fringe?I definitely want to get some layers), and have been looking for hairstyles inspiration. That's when I came upon this hairstyle (it's not directy related to my haircut, it's more of a general hairstyle I'd like to try!) :

On an unrelated note, her skin looks absolutely flawless!

I absolutely love this! I think it makes ponytails look so much better :D

What do you think should I try this volumized ponytail?

And what type of haircut should I get? Should I get bangs? I'm not sure what I want!

That's all for today, I just wanted to share the picture with you all! I will be back with fall/halloween themed makeup and nails soon, I should have more free time in about a week ^^
